  14. Mar 2006 Cohiba Exquisitos (Thank you Trevor)...sensational, especially as aged. I also smoked a Montecristo Churchill Anejados today which was similarly excellent (but I enjoyed it so much I forgot to take a photo!).

  18. So I have 20 or so NCs hanging around taking up space that I never reach for. I've decided to sell them off as they don't do it for me any longer. I was fortunate enough to sell off a good majority of them. However, I have an Arturo Feunte Don Carlos Robusto with minor wrapper damage. Being damaged and all, I didn't think it was right to sell. It's been several years since I've last had a NC. However, tonight is as good as any other to finally put this NC to rest. Cold draw - beautiful if not a little too easy. Construction was perfect. I don't know how NCs rollers do it. The consistency is amazing. Aroma at cold is sweet, like cotton candy. I moisten the cap before cutting to prevent further damage. It tastes if it was dipped in sugar water. Too sweet almost as if something has been added to it. Let's put this to flame. I would give a proper review but it's not worthy. Average smoke, no real progression, just sweet toasted tobacco. Just reiterating the reason why I haven't smoked NCs in years and have no plans on buying anymore. Construction was excellent however, no touch ups necessary.

  19. Nice. This gets me pumped for the box of Molinos I picked up! My cigar of the week was a RyJ Churchill PMU MAR 14 from the box pass. Fresh baked shortbread with cherry frosting. One of the best RyJ I've experienced.

  21. On three separate occasions I have seen culebras smoked as one. In one instance the individual was adamant that they are supposed to be smoked this way despite my informing him that they are to be separated first. Just as bad was witnessing someone lighting up a cedar encased cigar with the cedar still on it. Almost set his face on fire.

  25. My wife has been hinting at a dog for the past several months. We have two young kids, a cat and enough other things to worry about. I've been resistant to say the least. She's been scouring the pet rescue websites for some time now and every dog she shows me I'm able to combat against. Then came Joe Cocker, a cocker spaniel poodle mix, cockerdoo is the generic name I think. I agreed to go see him at the foster home. He was found at 6 weeks of age by himself in inner city Los Angeles. Fortunately he was rescued and had been taken care through foster homes the last several weeks. We were told he is 10 weeks of age. It goes without say, I was taken by the little guy. We took him on the spot! I'm sitting on the couch as Jo Jo takes his first nap at his new home. I think he's comfortable. I'm happy to have him.

  29. It doesn't change the flavors so much as it sharpens them. I'd compare it to adding a few drops of water to whisky.

  33. Maryland's new Governor just repealed the "Rain Tax", the previous tax loving administration levied a tax on the percentage of your property that didn't percolate, ie building, blacktop, patios etc. Granted this was focused more towards business, but still, a "Rain Tax".

  38. From the MRN encyclopaedia: Elsewhere in the entry he says that the culebra is a Philippine invention from the mid-19th century created based on the idea that a thicker cigar matures better than a thin one, and a culebra is a way to make a thin cigar mature like a thick one. Cuba never took it seriously, although in effect the bundles in a 25 and 50 cab accomplish the same end.

  40. You can smoke at most tables and walking around. You can't smoke at the poker tables though. The whisky/cigar lounge upstairs at Andres in Monte Carlo is a great spot for cigars. The patio at Rhum Bar (Mirage) is also a favourite spot. Activities...rent a dune buggy, go to the gun range, Saphires for strippers, exotic cars on the raceway, etc. What are your dates? I'm there June 12-15.
