A little Cigar Art as requested

Spot on :2thumbs:

...and who designed that logo?

That is about the right time and according to the Official Shell line 1955 is correct. However I believe it is slightly earlier about 1951-52 the reason for that is the number of flutes on the shell. The base of the logo on the cigar band has 10 flutes where the 1955 logo only has 6, which I feel is a later development of the design. However I will have to go home tonight and go through my design books to confirm this.

I love those customized / company cigar bands - does anyone know if such a thing exists today? - got me to thinking that i'd buy a box of these....

I don't know about customized Cuban bands, but when I was in the Bahamas last year, I visited the Graycliff cigar factory & they do customized bands, don't know what they charge for it but the regular cigar aren't cheap, average price $20 US/stick.

Thanks for the info Nedule, looks like a great spot - Oh for the glory days when a companies like Shell or Mercedes Benz would commission these - I presume they were for the top dogs or maybe for passing out to customers/clients? all very Madmen...
