Currently enjoying a Punch Royal Selection 11 with almost 10 years of age on it. The rum's distilled from locally sourced cane and then aged at 7 fathoms for 3 years in Bourbon casks before bottling. Toured the distillery and it was a hoot. I completely enjoyed it, much more than the Punch RS 11 with similar age. I found the Punch to be somewhat flat where the SLR A was complex with flavors of licorice, chocolate, honey and cedar. Habana Mike Posted May 22, 2015 Share Posted May 22, 2015 Smoked a horrid Esplendido today as part of the Cigar Sense blind tastings we do. Dry, tannic, sour and bitter. Fairly devoid of flavors, milder side of medium, very few redeeming qualities. Hay and mineral were about all I was getting from it. Poorly constructed, the foot was soft and the center knotted. Tough draw which tended to overheat the cigar despite a slow pace. Really gave it the best chance possible, very disappointing.
