El Presidente Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Coming to the end of another month. What is the best cigar you have had during October? Personally I have had some crackers but a couple come to mind. late 08 Magnum 50 which reminded me of the first release. Sweet, rich, magnificent. Sep 08 Winston. They just don't get any better. the premier Churchill. Winston pips the Magnum 50 at the post.
asmith Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Anything I had on the deck at Czars for free... Cohiba Grand Reserva
peteando Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 BRC TEB JUN 08. Dark wrappers, rich, decadent almost. What a resurgence.
Bartolomeo Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 PLPC from 2001 Cohiba Sub EL GEP DIC 04 HDM Piramides EL OSU JUN 03 Looking for a strong November thanks to the Czar crew Bart
mkz Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Best this month? Partagas S:P N:2 from 2006. Superb cigar!! Dark bread, roasted tobacco, stewed fruit and tons of nicotine. It was divine! Brutal but yet very subtle.
laficion Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 My last RA, ER 08 France, It was just fantastic, even young it was awsome Cheers
Buch0 Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Definitely my 08 'ol faithful.. Diplo #2. Probably the best cigar of the year for me, perfect construction & draw, succulent wrapper with lashes of chocolate mud cake, creme brulee and rich almonds. Even when comparing it to something like a CoRo, I haven't found a better cigar this year.
CigarmanTim Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 By far a ABR 08 Party Lusitania......all else was left in the dust. must. get. more.
thurmanmunson Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 01 Upmann corona, sweet cream, different profile from recent upmann's.
Habanos2000 Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Cohiba Mad 5 Genios gifted by my boss last Friday but not sure of the date. My first Maduro 5 and I was blown away by its character. Smoked it until my fingers burned! Simply delicious... H2k

Professor Twain Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I had an 04 Trinidad Reyes that was outstanding.
sepp Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Must have been the best because it certainly was the most memorable. A 98 Fonseca Cosacos. It oozed heavy tasty flavors and never wained.
Evo03 Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 All things considered, the Trinidad Robusto T I had was the standout. But I've been going back to a 2008 box of Monte #4's a lot.
theo30702 Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I'll have to say Monte #4 from a box of 2006. With a couple of years on this one the flavours are really starting to come out.
Wil Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Definitely the PLPC I smoked last night. Fantastic!
BolivarSmoker Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 08 Cohiba Robusto. Best of that particular stick I have EVER had. It was sensational.
demiurgic Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 RA SS 08 - Little young but so much potential.
ChanceSchmerr Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 02 Punch Black Prince. Absolutely stellar. Followed closely by an 06 Diplomaticos #3 Solid 3rd place - 02 Rafael Gonzalez Lonsdale. Smooth and sweet!
BillGB Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 The '03 SLR A that I had about a week ago. Great woody & caramel notes!
asc Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Siglo IV that was fantastic...from late 08 I believe.
PigFish Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 October was pretty much bust for me. Perhaps it was my lack of enthusiasm due to my surgery, the Darvocet... or due to me having my head up my ass in general! I was gifted an Upmann Mag 48 EL by a generous member here and even though the cigar was too woodsy for me, monotonic and a bit one dimensional I could see that the breed appears to have some promise for the future. In this case even though the cigar was not my favorite I was happy to see a generous flavor concentration appear in this larger ring cigar and I would have to chalk it up as a memorable experience. - the Pig
