Here few photos on the box and the amazing Vitola. Anybody in the area?
sounddust Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Wow! Wow! WOW! The shape reminds me of the Fonseca Invictos! Lucky, lucky you. Although I wonder how an 80 year old claro cigar will taste like Do remember to take photos!
ksblazer Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Very cool. Never seen 80yr old cigars before and those look nice. Please post some comment's or a review after you try one. I would really like to hear what they taste like.
FireDigger Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 That looks like a good time! Do these cigars go by the factory name of Britanicas? I am just wondering since the Ramone Allones AP RE 2009 is of that size.
cigarros Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Good stuff! Look at the band! "Juan Lopez. Del Peso y Cia. Habana". Here is one of the few Havana brands which is offered only in handmade styles, started in 1876 by Juan Lopez Diaz. After his death, the brand was owned by Cosme del Peso y Cia. until nationalization. Congratulations! Post please review after tasting!
El Presidente Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Love the shape. The Invictos (Fonseca) was a favourite before discontinued. If you see Jemma Freeman there, please give her a huge hug from me. Enjoy my friend!

Mr. Japan Posted April 19, 2009 Author Posted April 19, 2009 Do these cigars go by the factory name of Britanicas? I am just wondering since the Ramone Allones AP RE 2009 is of that size. From teh photo it look also to me a Britannicas (celestiale finos) but I can be more precise once back from my London>Andorra>Tossa de Mar trip.
Mr. Japan Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 Back from London, It's been a great event, the owner of La Casa Ajay Patel and Magali de la Cruz have organized a very unique event. Smoking such cigar is been a unique experience, and what experience. The cigar is been good, not dead at all, even if I personally could not say it was full, very little aftertaste. Unique shape, as the box was of 50 (not cabinet) , exagonal , and the ash of most of the cigars was very firm and light gray colour. In some cigars you could also find (STILL) some oils near the ash ( I mean where the ash ends and the cigar starts ). A very well balanced smoke, for almost 70 minutes (in my case) ended the evening with a beautiful dinner in Italian restaurant in Teddington with a Partagas Sobrasalientes for me. And what I have not seen in La Casa............... MMMmmmm I want go back P.s. : I met Bruce and Glen at Teddington but he did not stay for the event ;-(
laficion Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 FANTASTIQUE, Bravo l'ami . Great to see you had a wonderful night with some of the rarest Habanos. Thank you for sharing your evening with us.
Habanos2000 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Wow, fantastic! You can't find things like this in the US. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.
jeromeroselli Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 What an opportunity. You are a lucky one. Look at that ash.. I've never seen anything like it!
El Presidente Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Thank you Gino for taking us there through your photo's and report!!! Certainly a cigar experience you will always remember. Tell me, was the flavour Juan Lopez as you know Juan Lopez? What I am clumsily trying to ask ......could you see a relationship (favour profile) in Juan Lopez from the past 10 years to the one at the tasting?
sounddust Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Thanks Gino! Glad that you had such an rare opportunity. It's incredible that you didn't have to ash that cigar at all!
Stalebread Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I am shaking my head in awe at your photos and description. Thanks for sharing.
Mr. Japan Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 Tell me, was the flavour Juan Lopez as you know Juan Lopez? What I am clumsily trying to ask ......could you see a relationship (favour profile) in Juan Lopez from the past 10 years to the one at the tasting? I'm a fan of JL n.1 & 2 but this cigar was something different, no honey..coffee, but a complexity that I could not really "divide". Very well balanced.
Colimo Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 looks like it was a fantastic experience....im definitely jealous....yummm
