We will be finishing the top banner this week for the forum.

I agree that overall it is a little too "bright" for my liking.

For our tech heads....come up with a colour scheme which retains links to our past while setting the course for our future. I will let this run for the week so that you can see the new masthead up over the weekend.

Submit by April 1 ....must upload a mock colour scheme for members to vote on.

If we have a winner (the current scheme will also be voted on) then I will shoot you 10 Custom Hamlet cigars.

As far as legibility goes, I thought the new forum prior to this most recent "update" was fine. I'd be for simply going back to that.

Aside from the green intensity, I personally feel the real killer with this look is the dark gray between posts of a thread. Very distracting

and just too wide. If we can't go back, I'd personally prefer the thinnest, lightest separator possible. If new colors are chosen, I'd hope

they'd be subtle and unobtrusive - no blaring yoko ono, please.

Sounds like a fun assignment. I will, however, need an example of the old branding in order to get a feel for a new pattern.

I just hope that in the end, we're not going to put form ahead of function.

RA has stated that this forum is about the people that participate, and not the design (like a church is it's people and not the building).

So, let the discussions be the focus, with any design elements subtle background.

Let us be the meat, with the design the sauce - complimentary but never overpowering.

Freedoooooooomm!

You guys think you have it bad just looking at a photo... think of all the poor saps who had to sit next to him wearing that monstrosity!

Just imagine... overlooking the French Riviera on a nice summer afternoon, Alfredo is rolling perfect Laguito #1's at the table next to you, engaging conversation with friends and there's this BRIGHT PINK shirt ruining everything!

:P :P

Yeah, I for one am glad I was stuck at home, going to work, doing chores....... :P

I like to think of our humble host as.......... flamboyant.........

yeah, that's it.

Colt,

I need to defend my profession here,

Design is function.

When properly executed, that can be true.

I suggest a RAI N B O W scheme. It would be all inclusive of our multi national, multi cultural and multiple proclivities which would appeal to our favorite insanity laden transgender member. :P

Colt works at Costco Photo Centre. He was employee of the month twice last year so he knows what he is talking about. ;)

Does anyone at least have a screen capture of the forum with the old colors to look at?

Hold off on this. Our men Jason and Daniel are back next week and will tone it down so you can put away the sunglasses. If you are advanced on some proposals, don't hold back and submit them.
