Churchill & DC help, please...

Recommended Posts

I'm a huge fan of Churchills and Double Coronas. I'm looking to get a mix of singles and possibly a box of something, if there is anything particularly outstanding at the moment. I might be leaning toward a box of RA Estupendos. Any suggestions for these two vitolas would be appreciated!

For me there is three cigars in this size that stands out

HdM DC, a great smoke direct or age them and they will just get better and better

Montecristo A (do this one classify as a DC... or a CC) anyway just great, pure montecristo tones

RYJ Churchill, the is just beautiful, that band is the most good looking band that ever been constructed (worst one... Cohiba... ) this cigar is something extra, like any of the above, smoke it now or store it, just get better with time.

... for the box, I would go for the HdM, or the RyJ, no, the HdM... as good as it gets...

cheers

The Boli CG is an easy recommendation. I also like the Upmann Sir Winnies and Monarch. The Punch Churchiill is another one.

The VR Don Alejandro is a favorite of mine for a prominente along with the SLR DC.

Partagas Lusitanias are magnificent when aged.

The HDM DCl is getting good reviews.

Just some of the ones I like. . . There are others like the Cohiba Esplendido and RyJ Churchill you should try.

Well...

I got a box of H.Upmann Monarchs AT from the Czar and they look and smell amazing...I've yet to try one, but I think they will be excellent

And I certainly second the RA Estupendos and BCG....lovely smokes

DCs: can't go wrong with the SLR DC. I've got a cab from 05 I'm sitting on and will be for a while, but the one I had last year was very nice.

Good luck!

It's funny, you start a thread like this and basically get just about every Churchill and DC made recommended to you. Maybe the question should be, which Churchills and DCs should you stay away from? ;-)

Btw, lots of great recommendations here. If you're confused by the wide variety of choices, just e-mail Rob or Lisa and ask for their recommendations. They'll steer you right.

I'm a fan of the HdM DC and RyJ Churchill. I actually prefer the HdM DC a little green. I think it can start to wash-out with age but I'd probably be in the minority there. It's all about taste.

Cheers,

Al.

i'm loving a box of boli gigantes from 04 at the moment.

cohiba esp's almsot always excellent, though i know others have a lesser view.

the partagas lusi's are a must, especially as noted above, with some age.

an despite the disappointing reviews in the potential experiment, SLR DC's are a truly great cigar.
