Elric Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 They are great young but exquisite with 5yrs on them.
ehdg Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 » They are great young but exquisite with 5yrs on them. Where does one find them with 5 yrs on them?;-)
Loki Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 » » They are great young but exquisite with 5yrs on them. » » Where does one find them with 5 yrs on them?;-) My house lol:-P
Mikey Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 I'm planning on burning an ABR03 today.I hope 2 1/2 years will be ok...;-)
Wiley Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 These are the most inconsistent habano I've so far tried. Not worth it, IMHO.
cvm4 Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 I just finished up a VERY good Feb. '05 RASS. I guess I like'm young and old
mrjinglesusa Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 » These are the most inconsistent habano I've so far tried. Not worth it, » IMHO. You're joking, right? Never had a bad one myself.
CigarZen Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I agree -- these are very consistent havanas. And Elric hit it spot on, RASS are best when decently aged ... much better than when young, imho.

And Elric hit it spot on, » RASS are best when decently aged ... much better than when young, imho. I totally agree. THey are one of my favorite Robusto, and with some age on them, they are FANTASTIC.
shrink Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Add me to the ranks of happy RASStafarians! :-D
harwellplant Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 probably my favorite habano. there may be some others that i like more (and a few much more), it is consistent as the day is long. very nice young, totally different and even better with age.
El Presidente Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Waldo, What is the box code on those fresh RASS? Let me know if you get the chance.
Elric Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Thats the problem, they're so good young that they rarely get a chance to age...thats when they become sublime.
strayvector Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Never had an aged one, but the young one's I've had have been fantastic.
Guest gorob23 Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 I gotta agree alittle age on these does wonders. I have been searching for a cab. Rob why not get some in I'll take one :-D
dysfunctional Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 » They are great young but exquisite with 5yrs on them. agreed but dammed hard keeping my hands off them when they smoke so well when young
shrink Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Like most RA fanciers, I prefer them with a few years, especially the RASS. However, just to sample the "potential", I opened a JUN05 box the other day, and toked one up. It produced plenty of spicy, peppery smoke, and gave me a pleasant jolt, but the flavors were very muted, compared to what an aged RA can be. Sleep, sleep my precious little Rasstafarians. Daddy will wake you when it's time to get up.
thschrminm Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 These are definitely the most difficult to keep for aging in my humidor.... The longest I can keep these for is 2-3 years before they are done....
Ginseng Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 » Never had an aged one, but the young one's I've had have been fantastic. I'm the complete reverse. The young ones do nothing for me. But one with a few years, heaven!

I have some from 00 and from 01 and they are sooooo different and much better imho than the young version.
cf2112 Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I've got some 01 & 02's that are smoking great after a long down time. I just got a box of AUG 05's and tried one, it was very good but I'll try to let them get at least 2 yrs on em before I try another. El Prez when you gettin some of these I'd like to stock up and make it much easier to age a box for 5 yrs:-D
