Obviously similar lure selection can apply. Water does look extremely low and I have read that your Wild Rivers are severely threatened by extensive drought conditions. Great to see the kid's really enjoy the fishing excursions. Was that a Sancho Panza Corona??

Its good to see that you have instilled a love and respect for the great outdoors in your children. IMHO this is very important. Damn that some canoe. My Old Town a is bare bones tripper. The wife and I try to go on a 5-7 day trip which includes portaging every other early fall to either Algonquin Provincial Park or La Verendrye both located on the Canadian Glacial Plateau. Fishing in these eurotropic lakes is limited to small mouth bass, northern pike, and walleye.

Nothing like seeing them out on their own catching Walleye and providing dinner. Plus they were able to land some Trophy smallies in the 22 inch range. Have never been to Algonquin but hear it is very nice! If you want a real kick in the pants canoe trip sometime try the Thelon River in the Arctic. I have been down twice and never seen anyone or anything except MuskOx, Wolves and Caribou.

The Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva shown above was excellent as was this Tatuaje which I enjoyed late one night. Thankyou Keith and Tom. I also really enjoyed the yellow banded Cama...? remind me what it was Great pics Rob!! Looks like you had a hell of a time! The Gran Reserva was a Hemingway Work of Art Maduro and the yellow banded cigar was a Cabiguan Robusto Extra by Pepin. Glad you enjoyed the smokes my friend. TD

I succeeded :-D I generally use the single outrigger on the canoe but with a lot of work it can be capsized. With dual outrigger there is no way it can go down unless we take a hit from another boat. I like the way we can fish all three standing and casting into snags and it is as stable as as a rock. I have a canvas rig which fits over the outrigger poles over each side. When by myself I load the fuel and spare electric battery on one side and balance the other side with Cohiba my dog. He is great in that on command he will jump out and swim to retireve crab and shrimp pots. We load the canoe right side up onto a specially built 4X4 box trailer so that it is a slip in and slip out operation taking less than 10 minutes. The benefit is that you can prepare the canoe for fishing from home. It is indeed a Sancho Panza Corona in the photo. Very tasty ;-)

Just smoked one of these today after lunch The weather in Chicago has been nothing short of perfect. The SPC I pulled out turned into quite a powerhouse surprisingly. Gave me a helluva buzz.

Great pics and beautiful kids Rob. Time spent with the kids is the best! My Daniel is one tough fishing buddy as well. I can attest to Rob’s canoe setup. When there he showed it to me on the trailer… it was so efficiently packed it looked one of those Chinese acrobat’s in a 2’ glass box.
