habanablue Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 » We received some 1987 Davidoff No 1 (Lancero) this morning. PCC here in » Australia found them locked away in one of their humidors. How does one 'find' 87 Davidoff No 1's at the bottom of a humidor...whoever did a stocktake should be fired! :-D But thank god they did find them!
shrink Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Rob... at the very least we deserve a review. Eeny meeny miney mo, To which of the stooges should this treasure go? To Smithy, Ken or the Emperor Rob? Which will do a consummate job?
genevapics Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Something tells me you have plenty of pictures of PCC officials in compromising positions from the Cuba Trip... :-D Nice score Rob.

If I remember the Davidoff line correctly, the Cuban Davidoff was discontinued in 1992 (?). I wasn't a math major but if you have been smoking for three years and you smoked a 4 year old Davidoff when you started smoking, that would make what you smoked a 1999 or a 2000, seven or eight years after they were idscontinued. Are you sure you were smoking a Cuban Davidoff? Let me know if I am incorrect or misunderstood.

No your math knowledge is good, and as you calculated correct my Davidoff No 1 where not produced in cuba (but still a very good aged cigar). The Davidoff Cuban cigars where officially discontinued in 1991. Some say that Davidoff stopped produce his cigars in cube due to low quality (he burned over 100 000 cigars public), some say that there where a conflict between Davidoff and Cuba over pricing and how much Davidoff wanted control the manufacturing, and because I have never tried an Davidoff Cuban cigar I really wanted an review.
anacostiakat Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 I hate looking at stuff I cant afford. :crying:
IBMer Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 I wonder if the bank would give me a loan for these? :-)
sandholm Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Allright, I really wanted to try these, so I looked around the retailers I usually order from and found Davidoff No 1, 1991, "La Habanos Cuba". I also picked up a couple of Davidoff Chateau Lafitte (early 1970). They were not free, but not overwhelming expensive either.. so from now I will be sitting next to my door..
Cam Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 who did you find pm me, I had 3 boxes of 25 that were gifted to me by the CEO of a large company, TruTest, but I sold 2, if you recall me asking you about where to sell them rob, and i broke the others up into groups of 3 for aging, who did you find email me please. Tone_NY Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Lisa when Rob isn't looking send me what is left of those Davidoffs, LOL
Jimmy2 Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 One day i hope to smoke one .:-( Davidoff burned something like 300,000 of them he said it himself in an interview. Rob they look stunning !!!!!
GTS21 Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Ok, first the Tang Upmanns, now the Davidoffs. Are you trying to hurt me! LOL. FWIW, I've seen a fair amount of Davidoffs, and these #1s in your pics appear to be in EXCELLENT condition. The wrappers still have a nice sheen, the bands are only slightly yellowed. I think the cello helps quite a bit with retarding aging. Very nice!!
Ken Gargett Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 » Where did you get that Bollinger organsier.. bolly make an annual diary (as it would be) and present them to worthy recipients. somehow rob has conned his way on to the list, thereby demeaning it forever, because bolly now own ayala champagne. actually for the last two years, they have cut back (obviously not in whom they hand them out to) as they used to be much larger and a far better format - beautiful big leather bound diaries. then they went hoi polloi.
