My best cigar all time was an Hoyo de Monterrey double corona that had been aged around 5 year. The cigar was perfect for that moment, we were some close friends sitting on a terrace near to the see sharing a bottle of Dom Pérignon -96 , time just froze and the world became an excellent place to live in.

A tough question - subjective, and I can't really differentiate between the two.

So, while I won't look at it as "what's my favorite cigar" (though the questions

aren't necessarily mutually exclusive), in trying to recall the most memorable

cigar(s), here are my thoughts:

Bolivar Coronas Gigantes - also currently my favorite cigar - every one I've smoked

to date has been outstanding. Though the flavor profile sometimes differ from cigar

to cigar, I've loved each. I've had them put me in an almost trance-like state.

I feel they offer the best of Bolivar, and then some.

H. Upmann Sir Winston Churchill: When these draw, they can be the best of the best.

Unfortunately, I've had more plugged samples than not. But when on, they offer

great flavor, complexity, balance, and finesse.

I don't know that either of these could ever be considered the greatest of all time,

but they are at the top of my list.

I can tell you that I was recently stunned when, while smoking an unusually good Diplomatico No 4, my daughter and my wife both told me how great it smelled.

Up to this point my daughter has uniformly categorized all cigars as "stinky".

The best cigar you have smoked:

The first Monte 2, which was the first Cuban I had smoked. Been chasing the dragon on this one ever since.

The best cigar of all time:

Hands down the Trini Fundi for me. Aged and fresh. The Rollys Royce IMO.

Best of all time???

The jury's still out on that one. Probably haven't had it yet.

Best that I have smoked to date???

Since I find myself gravitating back to the PC sizes, I'd have to go with the Boli PC. The PC's are my fav because I seldom have time to go with a bigger cigar. The Boli's fit me like a good worn pair of jeans. Like a good friend, I can always count on them.

Best Cuban: Trini Reyes Yes, they're a bit small but I truly love this smoke.

Best all time: La Aurora Cien Anos Belicoso (First Batch) Hey, taste is subjective! :-D

When I think of all the cigars I have smoked in my life, one jumps immediately to mind. It was a Cohiba Robusto 3 years ago. Intense honey, cream and coffee...so sweet that you would swear it was a desert. It was a 1998/1999 stick from memory located in the bottom of the home humi....nothing pretty. Smoked it at home overlooking the pasture on the front deck. I was alone with only the dog for company. One of the great hours of my life.

The best cigar I ever smoked was a Taboada double robusto. I bought 10 from Sr. Taboada at La Corona in Feb 2002. Freshly rolled, they had the fabled "barnyard aroma". I walked from La Corona to Parque Central, fired one up and took in the sights & sounds of Havana. Stunningly strong & delicious, that was MY best cigar. The other 9 were fantastic too, but nothing like that first one.

» Cohiba Seleccion Reserve Pyramids

This would be my pick for Best Cigar Ever Smoked. Back in January (I believe), Eric (GTS21) and I shared a couple of these from his collection. To say this cigar was sublime is an understatement. This cigar was pure elegance, maybe even decadent! The cream and vanilla were in abundance and the cigar was smooth as silk. Truly an incredible cigar. Thanks again, Eric, for allowing me to enjoy a wonderful habano.

My Favorite Cigar (not necessarily my go to) would be the Cohiba Lancero. I have always had a place in my heart for the Montecristo No.2, but to me, the Lancero is a step above. There is just something about the cream, vanilla and smoothness that this cigar provides. All I know is that when I finish one, there is always a smile on my face.

I'm with you Geneva. I'll smoke everything else with friends and at functions, but my Lanceros I save for when I'm alone and I can give them the appreciation they deserve.

Best Ever- A Taboada Cananazo while turkey hunting two years ago. For some reason it was the best of the bundle and none has been like it since.

Best Box- I bought some 03 Siglo III from rob and they are as consistant as all get out with flavors of honey, nuts and beans.

Tough call...

But I'd have to say it was a Ramon Allones 898 Barnizado, MAR02. Incredibly dense, complex smoke. Opened with loads of spice, then sweet woody and fruity flavors, and finished with the essence of a fine red wine.

The one time I met Eric he gifted me one of these. I have been saving it for a really special occasion. Great to hear your mini review!!! Thanks GTS21, again!!!! I am now more than ever, looking forward to this smoke.
