Your Shipping Policy states:

6. Delivery is Guaranteed:-)

How will you handle potential seizures and/or losses in regards to aged stock? I believe I know the answer, but I just wanted to ask the question anyway.

Nice opportunity, Rob :-)

This way, I can buy more cigars than I have space for and have them age at certain temperature and humidity levels (which are?). I'd also like to know how a possible loss or seizure could be handled in the future.

There can only be a financial compensation in the case of aged cigars.

While many local Aussie members wish to use the facility for long term storage, many overseas members wish to use it for peace of mind to access at a later date when political circumstances change.

Technical question: what are / will be the climate conditions of the facility?

The facility runs at 16 Degrees Centigrade and 65% Relative humidity. Dual security systems exist with CCTV surveillance. Climate control alarms are also in place. Access door to the facitlity is locked at all times with dual signatory access. Onsite manager signs either Lisa/Smithy or myself in and out recording time and date of access and egress. Only one key held by ourselves.

The facility holds a few million dollars worth of wine and cigars. It is not open to the public.

We have leased the facility for our requirements since 1998 and it has been flawless. The owner of the commercial facility is a senior FOH member.

I guess you have got a lot of customers from the US, then ;-)

In most of the EU, importing (and/or even just sending) cigars by mail is illegal, no matter where they're from. We're awaiting a decision from the European Court of Justice to change that (Nov 28th this year). I understand you guys ship to France, UK, Germany, Italy anyway from what the shop says.

Ok, that's much better than anything I could have dramt of. :ok:

Claudius, it is not illegal for us to ship cigars in or out of Oz.

Unless I am mistaken the major fear in the EU was loss of tax revenue. Interesting to see the outcome there.

Excluding the obvious, our major markets are certainly Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia and increasingly Japan. We have clients in Israel, UK, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Greece, South Africa, Canada and even on the some scientific stations in Antarctica :-)

» Our leased secure and climate controlled warehouse facility is located 1km

» I will post pictures of the faciltiy next week. What we have done is set

» Your orders are catalogued and available at any time along with photo's.

» You can request a box to be sent at any time with the said request

» We will look at establishing this system in an online log in format down

» The facility is free for all members. :-)

i have been telling you to do this for years, yet do i see credit?

I didnt mean to say that you are not allowed to SEND the cigars, but your customer is not allowed to receive them in certain cases. In France or Germany, for example, if the content is marked as cigars (or cigarettes or anything subject to tobacco tax and state monopoly), it will be seized. This has to do with the state monopoly of manufactured tobacco products in place in these countries. Origin of the tobacco is irrelevant here. In Germany, you can buy cigars by mail order as long as they are being sent from within the country; in France, you're not even allowed to send cigars from Paris to Lyon.

Interesting about Japan. I noticed not too long ago that a Swiss online cigar merchand has added Japanese to their 3 or 4 existing languages. Is cigar smoking becoming popular there? I once saw an article about the very few places to buy cigars in Japan.

That explains the labelling instructions our EU clients give us.

I know little about the in country cigar situation in Japan. We are fortunate to have a few Japanese cigar clubs who purchase collectively. The are certainly passionate about their hobby and I have caught up with a few members at the last cigar festival in Havana. They also like to party

Rob, I have noticed that many have said that now their wives will never know of their purchases. What you need to do now is register your credit card transactions to show 'Flowers For Wife' on the transaction receipt!

great idea...hope the warehouse doesn't burn down...touch wood!:-D

Property is concrete block construction with onsite manager/owner dwelling above. Fire alarm to base, sprinkler system throughout excluding reinforced block secured climate controlled warehouse which measures approximately 115 metres located in the bottom of the building and effectively a seperate shell to the building. Secured ramp access, two dogs and a reinforced steel door (combination access) to the climate controlled facility.

I have called for a copy of the fire insurance policy Monday as I do not have that information to hand. Needless to say we are comfortable enough to store our own significant stock holdings in the facilty since 1998 because of the negligible risk of theft and fire.

This facility is not open to the public. It has been designed to securely store high worth wines and cigars. No expense has been spared. It is in no phonebook

In the event of Nuclear war......I know where I am heading ;-)

Unfortunately space can not be purchased as it is not open to the public.

Security in these things is paramount as I am sure you would understand :-)
