headstand Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Five years on and it is time to revive "The Wiggles Post" Until Saturday two weeks ago I was blissfully ignorant of the very existence of the Wiggles. Here is the story: So buddy has a 3 year old that just loves the Wiggles. Wiggles are coming to town. Wiggles need a fifth member for the show. Buddy wants to be 'father of the year' - so buddy post an audition, emails friends and coworkers to visit the Wiggles website, asks friends to vote for his audition. Like a lamb to slaughter I view the video: fruit salad, yummy yummy, fruit salad...awful. I vote Thumbs Up! Two weeks on I still have both the song and visual running through my head. Now here is the question: what did we do to offend Australia that it would resort to scourging the world with the Wiggles. Please, whatever it was, please accept our sincere apology and stay your hand - bring the Wiggles back home.
Vortigan Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 The one that defeats me is Barry Humphries! How that man has made a career out of of portraying those two grotesque characters is one of the great mysteries of the world!
mazolaman Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Yep Barry humphries is cool. Also....Especially for you......KYLIE......the finest foxiest Oz export. And then there's Jason Donovan, hmmm. Always enjoyed Clive James too...
Ghabanos Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 The one i remember the most was Paul Hogan show back in the early 1980's.He had some funny stuff on that show i loved it.. He was the first from down under in my eye's.. Isn't he crocodile Dundee? " that's not a knife, this is a knife...". While pulling a huge blade from it's holster to fend off a mugger...
celsis Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 The BeeGees? And who was that AFL player with the blond, curly hair and coloured boots? He used to like a ruck!
Dbone Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I must agree, The Wiggles as my daughters attention big time. I have to wait until she's 4? geesh. Although, may we never forget Oz gave us Air Supply. Which gave us Rob's hair style that we all love, modeled after lead singer Russell Hitchcock.
qman22 Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I like a band called Cut Copy, I believe they are from Melbourne
KB24 Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Let's not forget about perhaps your finest export, Sophie Turner! Known for absolutely nothing out here in Los Angeles except for, well... nothing!
BobKincaid Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 what about mel gibson?murdoch? wolfenson? felix the cat? bruce springsteen? okay, i made that one up but when i did live in the states, had a mate convinced he was born here and moved to nj when very yuoung. Ken, Mel's crazy-ass daddy (Hutton "I'm moving to West Virginia . . . they don't have any jews there" Gibson) moved from the USA to Oz to keep Melly outta the draft. If it was me, I'd claim Crowe a heckuva lot faster than I'd claim Mel.

First Lady Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Honestly boys don't knock the Wiggles.... they keep your kids entertained for hours and hours (can't stand them myself) another one we have is High Five.... dear God kill me now... Smithy thinks the girls are hot but that is Smithy We have some great music and Cut Copy is one of them and Air Supply are fantasitc. Bee Gees are actually from where I live... they are the only ones that can carry off those tight pants
stogieokie Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I don't know which was worse--The Wiggles or TeleTubbies . . . I'm just glad that my kids are older now and more into Disney stars (not sure which is worse though). We had to drive an hour and a half to see The Wiggles Live back in the day. Thanks goodness there were lots of hot mommies there or I would have been bored out of my skull!
stogieokie Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Remind me to re-read my posts before hitting "add reply" . . . .
ZinZan Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 How bout Man at Work......... the 80s hit song, " I come from the land down under....." I can never get that one out of my head.
JMH Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I don't know which was worse--The Wiggles or TeleTubbies . . . Definitely the teletubbies...

Torontonian Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Australia boasts perhaps the most technically advanced drummer on the planet in Virgil Donati. http://youtu.be/-NiJu4lKZBc
Scdalak Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Irwin being the only likable bloke in the lot... Poor bastard....What a passion that guy had CRIKEY!! I was on vaca in French Polynesia this year and was asked to "swim with the rays" to which I replied,
