I smoke 2 cigars every night so I am not easily affected by my cigars! Last night I was smoking a 24' Bolivar Belicosos Finos, I have not smoked one in a year or so. It got me a little light headed, not enough that I did not smoke another cigar right behind it 😜 I do smoke lots of Bolivar Royal Coronas and they really never affect me.

So it got me thinking what do you think is the Strongest Cigar in the Habanos catalog?

Fresh RASS and fresh Cazadores I'd say 🤔

Oh can’t believe I forgot Caz! Definitely the strongest in the Habanos portfolio. Especially fresh.

I had a Montecristo Elba the other night that packed the biggest punch I've ever had with a Habano, but it was incredibly enjoyable.

I'm sure this varies by individual and age of the cigars but a fresh RASS knocked me on my butt once.  So did a Partagas Presidente when fresh but many years ago.  No idea if the current blend is that harsh when young.

I don't really consider cuban cigars strong but a fresh RASCC can be a little powerhouse.

Fresh available cigars that are strong.

  • Cazzie.
  • Esplendido.

What was strong when released but no longer available.

  • La Escepcion Selectos Finos. Powerhouses in 2011, still deliver some punch.
  • RA Celestiales Finos. (see above, but smoothing out now)
  • Bolivar Turquinos. Pant shitting tobacco power when released. Haven't had one in years to comment on current ability to make one shit their pants.
  • Monte 520. Initially strong as hell.  That aged out within 2 years IMO. Still a great cigar
  • Cohiba 1966.  Similar progression to the LESF

💪cigar in the Cuban Portfolio?

When blended correctly what comes to mind immediately are cigars such as the Patagas 898 Varnished, Bolivar Petit Corona, H. Upmann Magnum 46.

The problem is that you can cigars in either that border on ruthless and others that pushing medium bodied at best...often from the same box.

Once upon a time I would have put the Bolivar Belicoso Finos amng that mix. However I haven't had a full bodied BBF for some time now. I wish I could!

I grabbed a box of Bolivar Immensas (lonsdale) some 20+ yrs ago & they were "pant shitting" to use @Puros Y Vino terminology. Punch to the face after 20 minutes. That box really evolved however & hate they're no longer in the portfolio.

Have heard often that BBFs used to be powerhouses. They have never been since I started smokin' em.

This '00 I smoked the other day, while rounded out very nicely because of the age, was strong and had a fantastic depth of flavours. One of the best cigars of the year so far.
