BrightonCorgi Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Well-crafted idea, not sure I am buyer for it. I'd flavor it with gypsy tears. 3
Puros Y Vino Posted May 28 Posted May 28 I tried to infuse a Quinteros with Cognac. I put the cigar and about 1 shot of Cognac in a small tupperware, left it until the cognac fully evaporated. Fired up the cigar...nada. 🫤 Maybe the Cognac evaporated itself out of the tupperware? Cuz it sure didn't get into the cigar. 2

The dry extract weight of distilled spirits isn't much, and depending on the exact cognac could be 'stuff' that doesn't translate flavor via combustion. I do love well marketed snake oil. 5
zacca Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Soy sauce, ie., twang in a bottle. It has it all - umami, mineral/saltiness, some bright acidity. 4
David8406 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Definitely peppermint. Had some aged Padron ‘64 Exclusivos that developed a mint flavor and they were fantastic. 1 1

That’s the thing most don’t understand. There are many compounds that contribute to aroma and taste in spirits and other stuff…and how they behave with combustion is a different topic entirely. It’s not as simple as “leave cigar near whiskey, cigar taste like whiskey” . 😂 1
Ford2112 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Cointreau. I have no idea what it is but y'all are always naming it as a flavor note!

Cointreau, in my opinion, doesn't flambée well, so I wouldn't reach for it to provide a quality flavor after combustion. Maybe a reserve cuvee Grand Marnier, but this is very gilding a lily. I could be talked into apricot distillate, and @David8406 mint sounds smart. 1
BigGuns Posted Friday at 06:36 AM Posted Friday at 06:36 AM A black and mild with a shot of Mickey’s. 1 1
JDoughty Posted Saturday at 02:46 AM Posted Saturday at 02:46 AM I wouldn't. Unless I was giving it to someone I didn't like much, in which case I might as well have a wizz in the tube. Er, not that I'm saying it would fit. 😆 1
