El Presidente Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Maybe I am being too critical. Your thoughts? Meet the Ferrari Luce FULL PICTURES AND STORY 2 1
Li Bai Posted May 26 Posted May 26 They had no other choice, kind of, word in the industry is that it is because of EU regulations. Many luxury car brands were not bothered as long as they stayed under 10000 cars sold per year, but it became obvious that Ferrari and others have been playing with their own numbers for years so they had to make a move in the "right direction". I wonder who will buy it? 🤢 2

Popular Post Puros Y Vino Posted May 26 Popular Post Posted May 26 Managia la porcha miseria!!! 🤬 There are some slick electric supercars out there. This is not one of them. This is equivalent to AI generating "art". This car has no soul. And that's a bit ironic given how many soulless individuals pony up the money for Ferrari's. It looks like an after market kit on a Tesla. Surely Ferrari's design and engineering team can whip up something that looks like a proper evolution of it's design cues? I guess this photos says...no? 5
Chibearsv Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Is “sexy” not going to apply to Frrrari anymore? It certainly can’t be applied to this loaf of white bread. Ferrari stock down over 7% since this release. 4

VeguerosMAN Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Yikes. It's like putting a battery in a Rolex. I am pretty sure Ferrari will have inferior battery tech than Chinese EVs.
BrightonCorgi Posted May 26 Posted May 26 This does carry many styling cues from current lineup. Not that Ferrari's current lineup is their best either. When buying a new Ferrari, owners expect heirloom quality to the car, not sure if this has it. Certainly, plenty of technology in the car and it is "state of the art", but it's certainly priced up there by Ferrari standards. It's a big ask to their customer base to step up to the plate at 600K+ I would've gone another direction if an EV is a mandate. I would've done a less expensive "Dino" inspired model that is good for a 100-mile range, bare bones, and as light as possible. Kept the price ~150K and market it as a pure toy. Then again, Ferrari can keep buying EV credits instead.

VeguerosMAN Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Just now. Ferrari stock falls 5% after releasing their new EV.

Popular Post El Hoze Posted May 26 Popular Post Posted May 26 Boy if you thought the FF or the GTC4 were laughable, Ferrari has certainly outdone themselves. This one should be about as successful as Ferrari’s first four door, the Pinin. You almost wonder how this can possibly happen. Imagine spending almost $700K on a Ferrari and everyone is laughing at you with tears running down their face. The Emperor's New Car. I am definitely a purist when it comes to cars, but I increasingly believe there is a place for EVs in the exotic world. I daily drive a quad motor Rivian R1S, fun car and the behavior of the electric motor has really grown on me. I still have a few gas guzzlers to ensure my place in hell. 5
Havanaaddict Posted May 26 Posted May 26 I think this was one of the signs the world is coming to an end! 😮 1 3
cigaraholic Posted May 26 Posted May 26 A butt ugly car in butt ugly blue...did they paint the battery red? 🤮

I do think the FF and GTC4 are laughable. To be fair, the front looks good as does their interiors. The rest is butterface. FWIW, the Luce has a several interior styling elements from the late 70's. Some of which remind me of the 308GT4. 700K and parked next the RR Spectre for a little less money; I know which one I'd pick (Spectre). I'm sure the Luce drives like nobody's business. Curious to see when the reviews start showing up.

Dadof3 Posted May 26 Posted May 26 it looks more like a styling exercise than a production vehicle to me. I think the EV is premature for a sports car. Right now I believe they are still too heavy and a technology in process. Give it about five years and when they streamline solid state batteries and they figure out miniaturizing them in wheel motors they can make the EV much lighter and handle properly. Right now EVs are very fast but it seems they are moving more mass than they should be. 1
ha_banos Posted May 26 Posted May 26 It's ok everyone. It plays engine noise through its speakers. And it's not an AI engine noise either. So it likely doesn't sync with what the drivers doing anyway. And that's crying when he realises what a doo doo he's bought. 4
Popular Post cnov Posted May 26 Popular Post Posted May 26 It's pretty bonkers where we've got to in the last 20 years. This is surely peak capitalism? I had to go back a double check that it was actually $600k a couple of times, I'm still not sure I read that right. You'd have to be certifiable to part with that much cash for that. 5 1
GP012 Posted May 26 Posted May 26 It looks like something out of a Lego Duplo or Fisher Price catalog. 3 1

Ha, yes everything looks great up until the B Pillar and then it all falls apart spectacularly. It’s like you’re looking a gorgeous woman head to toe and when you get to her waist she is a centaur. I think a nice rear is an important part of the package. 2

What is that like 64 boxes of BHK 58? And more easily accessible? Seems a bargain put that way! You can't look at these things through the lens of the normal world. 1

My comments on the 70's styling are within the interior. Use of metal around the dash and steering wheel reminds of that era. Same with the leather stitching of the seats. 13 hours ago, ha_banos said: It's ok everyone. It plays engine noise through its speakers. And it's not an AI engine noise either. Wait until the autonomous driving mode that can mimics the driving styles of former Ferrari greats around Maranello or possibly other tracks in the future. Want a Räikkönen experience around your local circuit. It could be in the near future. 2 1
