Popular Post MoeFOH Posted March 19 Popular Post Posted March 19 I contemplated calling this The Dogshite Film Club, but opted for the more open-minded, family-friendly version in the end... The concept: films so bad they're somehow good... or not. This week's film: 1974's Zardoz (somehow starring Sean Connery). If you've seen it, jump in and comment below. If not, your challenge is to put yourself through it this week and join in the conversation... assuming you make it out alive. Feel free to PM me suggestions to feature each week. 2 3
Popular Post Chibearsv Posted March 19 Popular Post Posted March 19 You've got to watch the movie to the end for the big reveal. If you like the trailer, you'll love the movie...and you should check in to a drug rehab facility immediately. 2 3
Puros Y Vino Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I remember this WTF movie on TV ages ago. Could barely sit through it then so I don't want to use up precious hours of my life now to revisit. 😬 1 1
Hoosh Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Figured out where to watch it for free this weekend! The Internet Archive 1 1
Dadof3 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I watched it a couple of years ago. It was a bit disjointed and the premise was very 1970s. If you liked Westworld or Beneath the Planet of the Apes or similar 1970s dystopian fare you will probably enjoy this. I've seen worse. 1

riderpride Posted March 20 Posted March 20 I can't believe this is a real thing. It's so bizarre that I've got to see it...probably shouldn't though 😜 It looks to be on Disney+ here. Cheers!
JohnS Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Whilst I'd be the first to advocate that yes, there are some movies that are in the "so bad, that they're good" category and are a must see, just because they stand out from other films, sadly...Zardoz is not one of them. 1 1

A former neighbor used to go with all of his friends to see terrible movies in the theaters. He called the group the RAMs, where RAM stands for Really Awful Movies.
Fuzz AI Posted March 21 Posted March 21 It's a cult classic, but it ain't no "Manos: The Hands of Fate". 1

Capn_Jackson Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Something to remember: Sean Connery turned down the role of Gandalf because he didn’t understand the script or the story. But...Zardoz. 3

When I see the thread “The Hands of Time….”, I think of that movie. I almost posted it at one time but figured it was too obscure a reference. I’m glad you’re there for me Fuzz. 1

riderpride Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Alright, I made it 25-30 min in then tapped-out. I made it past the bolt-action spewing head and then some, but fell asleep. It's been a few weeks, and I haven't gone back yet, but a return isn't off the table. Cheers! PS - I have plenty of recommendations for this movie list if you're interested. 2 2
Ken Gargett Posted April 20 Posted April 20 this was screened on free to air here recently. i had it on in the background. i can't imagine sitting through the entire thing. spare me. apparently cult now means so bad that people want to watch it to see just how bad it can be. one suspects that sans 007 we would never have heard of connery.
