Hammer Smokin' Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago While likely impossible to ever say for sure, it is widely accepted that Bob Weir has played more live concerts than just about anyone in history. 15 years old until 79 years old. Trey Anastasio on Bobby: Bobby told me incredible stories about his life during those days at the beach house. He told me how he was still in high school when the first acid test happened. When it was over, the sun came out, and he had to do his math homework as he raced back to school on the train. He said after the second or third acid test, he looked down at his homework and said, “Nah.” And that was it. The rest of his life was on the road, in the Grateful Dead and other bands. 4
Popular Post El Hoze Posted 8 hours ago Popular Post Posted 8 hours ago Man this one hits home. As silly as I feel saying it, the Dead have been a huge part of my life. With music it is them, and then everyone else. I went to my first show at 13. Thanks for alot of great memories Bobby. 7
Popular Post HDGSN Posted 8 hours ago Popular Post Posted 8 hours ago The last time I got to see Bob. Last song I got to see him play was Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door. Had such a blast at this show. Dark Hollow>Catfish John had me beaming. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/bob-weir-and-wolf-bros/2023/soldiers-and-sailors-memorial-auditorium-chattanooga-tn-1bbaf578.html 5
SigmundChurchill Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago My best memory of Bob Weir was seeing him play at Sweetwater Saloon in Mill Valley, CA. This was in the early-mid 90s, so Sweetwater was just a bar that held less than 100 people, decades before it became a much larger music hall. I used to have a beer at the bar every day after class, just so they would get to know me and let me in whenever someone big played there. I have looked for video of it over the years without much luck. If anyone happens to find one, please pass it along. I am the guy sitting at the front table with his feet resting next to Bob's microphone stand. 🤣 RIP Bobby 3
