DeeBeezy Posted June 25 Posted June 25 I have my own personal opinion. Does anyone have a preference for wrapper colour when it comes to Cuban cigars? Does it depend on the cigars? I recently purchased two 50 cabs of RASS and two boxes of famosos, One of each was darker towards maduro (not full blown maduro) and one was more claro. Some people hold the opinion that wrapper only contributes 1-5% of flavour on Cuban cigars. l can categorically say that is completely incorrect - cigars may have the same DNA but they taste very, very different. 2

I am right there with you! I hunt out darker wrappers (colorado maduro) on most everything. I am also always looking for rosado wrappers, but most of the cigars I am seeing now are coming in lighter wrappers (Claro).

Deeper, more complex, bolder flavors on average? 1
SCgarman Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Chestnut brown. Colorado/Claro or Claro. I really do not like super dark Maduro colored wrappers. I will smoke them, but as in all things beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 1
SUP8333 Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Light claro for regular production, Colorado Maduro for LEs. As dark as they can get.

Especially when it comes to fresher cigars within the past two or three years. Vintage and aged cigars is another thing altogether. As the complexity and rich flavor comes from the age and marrying of the tobacco.
Popular Post 99call Posted June 25 Popular Post Posted June 25 Shades of wrapper can surprise you, I've gravitated to being more concerned as to the look and sheen of the wrapper as opposed to it's hue. However!!! I will avoid these three colours like the plague... - Inflammable Cow poo Oscuro: - Baby poo triple Claro: - The dreaded, swamp thing Candela: 1 1 6
barrygoodvibes Posted June 26 Posted June 26 As close to Maduro or Maduro. Sweeter and more flavorful. That being said if it’s a nice summer day or an early morning smoke then a nice golden brown is great. 1
