Popular Post vvvendo1969 Posted June 30 Popular Post Posted June 30 Such a long wonderful and exciting journey over these 5 weeks, for me. I smoked the five cigars most seriously and pleasantly in my life, lol. I learned a lot and enjoyed very much, all through this fantastic event. I truly appreciate El Presidente and his team staff very much. Here I write my review of Cigar #5. On 29th June very early in the morning in Tokyo. The highest temperature is forecast as 34 degrees in Celsius and the humidity is 70% at present. Too hot for summer. The color of the wrapper is Colorado. Construction seems to me normal. < First 3rd > Pairing with a Coke. First puff. Leather, dark chocolate, coffee, cocoa, and earthy flavor. No sweetness but richness and savory flavor in the traditional Japanese Cuisine. Draw is tight. Light to medium body. At this moment, I am sure that this cigar is Vegas Robaina Famosos, one of my favorite. A half inch ahead, then suddenly and dramatically flavor change happen. Wow! Citrus and fruit flavor are emerging from out of nowhere. Really amazing. Earthy and leathery flavors totally vanished to somewhere. I cannot understand why. Such a big change. < Second 3rd > A decent weak sweetness and a refreshing strong tartness with an hint of vanilla are added to citrus and fruit flavors. Very enjoyable cigar. At this moment, my thought is changed. This cigar may be ERdM Choix Supreme or SLR Regios. Tartness are most impressive for me. Body is same as the first 3rd. < Final 3rd > Getting more complex. Body is now strong. Flavor is almost same as the previous 3rd. I am now feeling sad that I am about to end my journey, really. 100 minutes smoke. < My conclusion > Should I believe my first impression or second one? Too difficult to decide, but I must make a decision. OK, I bet on Choix Supreme relying on my past experience five, six cigars ago when I smoked a ERdM Choix Supreme and/or SLR Regios almost everyday. Maybe I experienced the same big change at that time. 8
joeypots Posted June 30 Posted June 30 This one is a slightly different size from the first 4. I've had limited experience with this vitola. This one may be the best of the contest bunch. Earth and leather, medium body, smooth and creamy. I assume it's a young cigar and I'm impressed with it. I am not great at describing cigars but based on this single, I think it's box worthy. Choix Suprême, mostly because of it's approachability. 2
