I know a few gatherings have happened through an announcement but are any of us using it regularly? I haven't been on it but twice. I would be into random herfs.

I've been on one more time than you. I've looked several times and never seen anyone else online except if a meeting has been pre-announced by Rob. I'm curious too if anyone else is using it and when.

Was going to post this today too. I have Discord open for other groups all the time and when I click on the FOH one at random times, it seems empty.  I wonder if members from Europe, Asia and other parts are using it at "regular hours" for each respective time zone and I'm not seeing it.

I've been on too and it's been empty.  Maybe people can use this thread or another to coordinate meet ups there.

I think a "status window" is being looked into so that visitors to the site can see # and name of users.  IMO that's the best way to drive usage.

I will let Steve chime in later today.

We need "green light" method (or similar) signifying someone is "in" or jumping in.

Right now I would use the chatbox.

I would like to be on it more, but unfortunately I can't attend as much as I would like as I normally work when these events are on. No matter, I can attend during vacation periods and occasionally on weekends.

Is the discord very active? I'd like to get in there if possible. There are not may discords where Cubans are the focus.

I would pop in there but I don't comment much and have stocked my humidors to the brim so won't have capacity to purchase for a bit.

We are looking into it but the difficulty we face is that Invision is essentially a gated community of apps/plug-ins, and even some of their 3rd party approved stuff can break the site theme/templates. So shoehorning in outside code is fraught with danger and we have to tread very carefully. We are also moving towards a major update of their software, which will move the goalposts again for something like this.

Initially, I think the best way forward might be some prearranged "peak time" get-togethers and announce those via a forum post. E.g. 30-60mins after 24:24. I know it's meant to be a casual drop-in type of thing, but the various time-zones around the world will obviously have their own sweet-spots as to when folks tend to have availability. If we can create a sort of habitual window for users (plus the supporting forum post/chatbox message for a while) then we're more likely to have a more regular presence in there. From there, other more casual traffic should grow as well as folks discuss meet-up times, etc.

Thoughts?

Discuss below, or I'm open to feedback via PM at anytime, and also happy to help facilitate with posts, announcements, and so on. :cigar:

Hi, is there a way to get a notification when someone or a few join or go online?

I'm not familiar with the settings or how it works, but I can see myself jumping in if I get a notification that others are in.
