La_Tigre Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Suppose you could have a Walk in Humidor the likes of what we have seen lately. Would you add a coat rack or closet space to hang suits or special clothing in the humidor? Go with humidor as your cologne scent? 2

All the posts referring to the wonderful smell of opening a box of cigars prompted the thought. I suppose a bit too Hank Hill for some folks. I used to wear Escada for men when it was in production for its tobacco notes. I sometimes wear Tobacco & Vanilla but find it too sweet smelling.

Oh I get it now, never thought about that before 🤔
BrightonCorgi Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Dupont and Dunhill stores separate the cigars from the clothes on purpose. 1

But is there a reason for personal clothing. I’m not saying have a 50 suit hanger in there for all your clothing. I mean a spot to put a couple things. And I could understand that the clothes could somehow taint the cigars if they were scented from washing or smoking. Just a weird random thought NOT brought on by smoking something else.

Earthbuddy Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I think I’ll just keep them to myself in my own closet.
La_Tigre Posted February 14 Author Posted February 14 Was a serious question and thought. When I build my walk in humidor I will have the exhaust to the clothes closet for spite. 🤣 1
Uwiik Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Don’t do it. I have a PLC controlled walk in with rock solid 1% RH - 1C daily fluctuations with 0 outside air exchange (when closed) and I can definitely smell the difference on the air aroma whenever my wife or I put several bags inside the walk in. 2

I'm in the preparation/getting quotes phase of building my own walk-in humidor in the home my wife and I are starting in a few weeks. Your stability in rh and temp is impressive, would you mind sending me the details of your setup? I've dreamed of having my own walk-in for years now and wanna make sure I do everything as well as possible for success and safe storage. Thank you! 1
Edicion Posted March 3 Posted March 3 I would say if necessary or there's a purpose? As an example, I used to often go to a lounge where they had a closet inside the smoking area. It looked like a hotel wardrobe with sliding doors. Well, it had a purpose, one of the key points is that was for regulars who worked in office and needed a change, so most would keep a smoking jacket, coat or even like a fleece jacket. It would definitely help reduce the tobacco smell on clothes when returning to office. The other point, was that the lounge was very cold with strong aircon to keep a good temp for the cigars. Having a second jacket was good to keep warm when it was summer outside, walking in with a shirt only or similar.
