riderpride Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 Black Monday - the first day following the NFL regular season; a day in which under-performing teams nuke staff including coaches, scouts, and GMs. Will your team do a BIG thing, A thing, or nothing? As a Phins fan, there's plenty of chatter due to multiple examples of mismanagement over 30 years or so and many hope Ross will clean-house by canning both McCoachin and Greer. Rumors are rampant that Greer will be 'promoted' to an advisory role to save face if not fired outright. If so, McCoachin might get a pass this offseaon and allowed a chance to perform under a new GM. This team has too much top-end high-flying players with no investment in the trenches or depth. My preference would be to reset at the GM level and keep McDaniel for a 'prove it' year. What will your team do, and what do you hope they'll do? Cheers

I count on the Bears to do everything wrong. They have to get a new head coach, so they will. They should fire the GM for bringing the head coach back last year and for hiring a horrible Offensive Coordinator, they won't. The family owners married into the Bears and have never known a thing about football. The Bears are their piggy bank. Their priority is keeping the piggy bank full. If I thought the owners were smart, they'd know that just a whiff of hope is all they will ever need to provide to keep this huge fan base interested and paying to sit and watch bad football. Instead, I prefer to think that they are inept.
BrightonCorgi Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 I hope New England gets rid of Mayo and hires Vrabel as head coach. 2

Chas.Alpha Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 I fear the Vikings are on the opposite side of things. Brian Flores will score a HC job and will take half of the D staff with him. The O staff will also likely be heavily poached. Hopefully, money isn’t the only motivation to keep some of the talent in Minnesota. 😳
El Presidente Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 Todd Bowles is gone I suspect. Bucs offer Liam Coen top job.

Let's not forget about his bs Brady/Sean debacle. Fins will never succeed with him as the owner. 1

He's a fine DC and it sounds like he's grown a fair amount, but new teams would need to have a short memory about the end of his tenure with the Phins. He made it about something it was not when it was about inept ownership and management. The team may have finished that season 8-1 that year, but he was on an island by himself on the sideline. No one talked to him. No one. When he didn't get a HC gig in the offseason he said of Lovie Smith and Bowles too, that they weren't deserving of the roles and that he was the obvious choice. I hope he's figured things out. Cheers!

He's spend more time on the Miami GP and Miami open which surrounds the stadium. Cheers!

I don't know if Vrabel is the answer but whatever. Watch us win today and lose our first rounder...Need to get Maye some actual receivers and a buffed O-line. Draft will be super important since we don't have much to trade for. Mayo's out, but no replacement mentioned so far.

Liam Coen as OC is that good. He is the reason we are in the playoffs. He won't be at the Bucs next year unless he gets the tap to stay as head. Todd Bowles is our defensive mastermind. He masterminded a #21 rank this year. Our secondary is woeful. Daniels will put up 30 points. Coen will need to engineer 30+ which they are capable of doing.
Ken Gargett Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 we may need a new OC if KK goes (if he does, likely to be to Chicago). would not be surprised if he hung around for at least another year. otherwise, we are likely to continue with more of the same (a sentence which has struck fear into Washington fans for thirty years but now actually sounds good). the guys have turned this into a destination that is attractive to players, for the first time since the early 90s. a lot of players love playing for DQ so i think we will pick up some solid guys over the off season. don't see any huge splash plays (some talk of higgins as a new WR). we have people who understand the draft. lord knows Riverboat Ron might have been a good man and a decent coach but he made dan synder look like a genius when it came to the draft. there will be a few more players from the old regime needing to dust off their resumes - i'm looking at you, st juste. we have to juggle some of the salaries of the defensive line. to be honest, we really want an offseason where we are hardly mentioned. we don't know what that is like.

Mariota got us the win. but i suspect there was a bit of protecting him in the decision to remove him. very ordinary game between two average sides, though we really do like waiting until the last few seconds. next week, we desperately need Lattimore back from injury. if baker m is throwing to st juste or davis as CBs, he'll put up 800 yards. the other thing i'd like in the off-season is someone explaining to daniels that when you are built like a toothbrush, it is wise not to take quite so many sacks, especially when you really don't have to. now, when is this thing and am i required? i serve at the pleasure...

riderpride Posted January 6, 2025 Author Posted January 6, 2025 Well... Ross has announced he's bringing the 2 ring circus back. To say I'm unhappy is an understatement. I have a lot of thinking to do a a loyal fan of ~40 years. 25 of which were absolute suck. Hopefully they sell the under-performing assets for scrap and start over. Best of luck to you all and the franchises you support. Cheers 1

He's HC #1. Fortunately for Kraft - he gets away with everything. Spygate, deflategate, the evidence in Mia of grossly illegal behavior that didn't stick for technical reasons. The Brady legacy they tripped into is the only thing saving him as an owner. Cheers

Pats needs that pick to shop more picks, Mayo knew he's gone so led the team went for it. Jets did that twice recently, won a meaningless game late in a season, and resulted to draft Solomon Thomas instead of Myles Garrett, and Zach Wilson instead of Trevor Lawrence.

Why not just forfeit the game instead? Less risk of injury. I am not a fan of losing on purpose. It's not fair to the players to tank a game on purpose. They may have performance metrics in their salary. If they want to lose a game on purpose, I can be their quarterback for heck lot less money.
