Hi all, this Monte was part of a sampler I purchased a few months back. I completely forgot what I bought so I’m hoping you can help me out here 😂

Anyway it’s a great smoke, full of butterscotch sweetness. Seems between 5.5”-6” slightly narrower than a Monte 4. Thinking it might be an Especiales no 2 but I'm not sure. Looks like there might be signs of a small pigtail. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

You could always asked where you purchased them from? I was thinking 1 Espi 2 as well, with those dimensions not quite. I am certain someone will let you know fairly quickly!

  • JohnS changed the title to Can you help me identify this Montecristo cigar?

The pig tail could be one of the Especiales series cigars, but the size and ring gauge are different than what is pictured.

Especiales is 38 ring and No. 3 is 42.

Also No. 3’s will have a slight box press unless they came from a carton.

Folks, the ash in a cigar is shrinking considerably in longitudinal direction during combustion. Here, with an ash of an inch already, that’s perfectly fine with an original 6-inch cigar. Apart from that the pigtail says it all. No doubt it’s an Especiales No. 2.

@Fugu thank you! I didn’t realize the ash would shrink but that makes sense. Appreciate everyone’s help… Especiales no 2 it is. Now I need to grab myself a box!

Certainly do that! Worth every penny (even at current pricing...).
