I hope they continue to sit on the shelves, especially Trinidad. I think over the next few years Cuba is going to continue to roll less and less until supply/demand is at an equilibrium. Instead of rolling more regular production, more "special" releases will come out to use the leaf and create an even higher profit margin. Overall it's just depressing from a buyers POV.

The rest of the range is creeping higher, splurging a bit more on Trinidad might not be so far of a stretch soon enough.

This is probably why HSA is moving away from the west. Cohiba that will sit on shelves in B & Ms in Europe would move quicky in China at those same prices. The demand for $3,000 Esplendidos just isn't there for people who walk into Spanish cigar shops. I haven't seen any BHK retail in years yet in a Spanish B & M there it sits gathering dust.

Is there anyone here that’s been to China recently that can attest to this? Just curious, all the videos we’ve seen of Lcdhs in Vietnam are singing the same song as Spain.

The good news is that the void left by Cuba will be filled, in my opinion. Just look at Rob and Fabrica 5, I’m sure it’s been a long process, but within the last couple years we have cigars that can go toe to toe with Cubans. Just think about 5, 10 years from now. It’s shitty at the moment but people are resourceful and creative - the collective ‘we’ will find a way.

I’m just happy I know about the Fabrica 5 lines…!

I didn't see any Cohiba boxes in the recent video posted of LCDH Hanoi. Yes, they do have an excellent selection of singles and a Mag 56 jar but apart from that nothing high-end.

Likely this OP shop in Spain is a bit out of the way and clearly isn't selling online. They could move those boxes on BR easily if they wanted to. They're keeping them in the shop for whatever reason

The Chinese hit up LCDHs around the world and many are shipping a good portion of their stock there. They wouldn't do that if they had local demand. Again, why deprive Infifon of the business if the Chinese are going outside of their market? Shifting supply to China makes total sense under those conditions.

This economy isn't helping the store or their customers.

Seeing those prices would make both the burden of investment and sticker shock to cause anxiety for all parties.  EU consumers aren't so flush with cash these days.

$872 USD for a 24 ct. box of Reyes? That is comical at best. They will collect dust at these ridiculous prices.

That's quite a bit above the world price of around $450-500. The secondary market seems to be supporting that price level with aged boxes maxing out at around $600. They must have cut production for Trini quite a bit as every shop I've been to both in Havana and outside has stacks of Trini since late 22. Even in China the demand for regular production Trini isn't there.
