Over to you good people :cigar:

"...I love the PL montecarlo and PC/PE. I have bought most regional Por Larranaga as well because I love that PL profile. However I have 5 boxes of Picadores from different vendors and years and none of them have evolved into that PL caramel goodness. Will they ever Rob? Let me know your experience or put this out to FOH members to comment on. Like I said, I have boxes to 8 years of age and nada. Just generic Cuban tobacco but no Por Larranaga DNA as I love".

I’ve smoked maybe 20 max and found them all very different to both PLMC and PLPC. All have been 3-5 years of age. None had that PL caramel note I get with aged gold labels, but also never got the same sort of intense / complex power (that’s not a great description) that I get with young PLPC.

For me, the Picadores is a complete one-off for the Marca. I've yet to have one brings that sweet caramel, burnt sugar notes. They do however (when they are on) bring an excellent cream note with just the right amount of floral to balance it out. I treat the Picadores as a change of pace cigar as it is so unique, not only to PL but to the habanos portfolio in general.

Usually when I used to hand them out to friends, it was very much a hate it or love it cigar, me personally, I love it.

I recently reviewed this with no previous experience of the Picadores and almost no awareness of what to expect. The only thing I was generally aware of was that others considered it an outlier and not typical to the rest of the PL line.

There is also some follow up discussion beneath the review from others with more experience of this stick.

It doesn't seem like the Picadores is the place to look for caramel!

Still haven’t tried them yet.. got them 2 years ago didn’t know if I would flip them or keep them. @david9985 is spot on with feel and smell of this cigar.

I’m glad I didn’t go 5 boxes deep to figure out these aren’t my thing...one did it, and I still have a handful left that are going on 7 years now. Probably my least favorite Habanos to date, kinda remind me of vegimite TBH.

I find it the same. No one would ever blind guess a PLP as a PL. I get a herbal character and maybe some burnt sugar. It's an under medium cigar at best.

The Galanes is a much more straight down the middle PL.

I have 7 sticks left of a 2014 box. I get orange peel/citrus and cream. I liked every one of these I’ve smoked!

Definitely not the PL Caramel you might have expected.

I find this too. Love the picadores but not much PL to it. If I was blind tasting would swear its a Punch

I am digging the box of Picadores I am currently smoking.  If you don't want your boxes and live in the States; PM me. 😀

I do not find them comparable to any other PL I've tried, aged or new.

I let a friend try a couple from a 2018 and he said they tasted "cheap".

I have enjoyed several, but they never rise above a 88/89 at best. Although I've never tried one more than a few years old.  I tend to agree that they seem to be a unique profile that tends towards floral  and mineral imo.

I smoked almost half a box from 17' and all I can say is this hermosos n°4 is far from the others PL regular line-up taste. But I really like them, I can define it as close to the creamy side, almond and milk chocolate, sometimes citrus notes but no hint of caramel. It can be quite similar to some ERDM Choix supreme.

I'll need to smoke some fresh Picadores now.
