WarriorPrincess Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 This Saturday Brisbane Lions AFL team and the Brisbane Broncos Rugby League team play off for the finals in home games for the finals next week. What a great weekend ahead if they can both make it to finals next week, as it has been a long time for both teams and well deserved the way they have played this year Rob and I will be watching both games nevously ( well me for the Lions game ) Go the Lions and Broncos 1

Duxnutz Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 After poor Melbourne do what they usually do. Go Blues!
Fuzz Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Poor GWS lost by 1 single point. Was a very scrappy game.
westg Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Scrappy ...that's as good as it gets . Intense, pressure...contested football at its very best. What a pity evil somehow managed prevalence over good by the slimmest of margins.
westg Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Not overly concerned with the no necks no brains game. Whoever wins tomorrow night I am buying that teams jumper and wearing next week....I could not possibly dislike Collingwood more. Go Brisbang Lions
westg Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Who ever wins tomorrow night may the Cuban cigar gods shine light on them

JohnS Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 That's the way it is with Collingwood in the grand final...it will be their oft-multi-generational, one-eyed fans vs the rest of Australia against them. Me? Yeah I would go for Brisbane or Carlton to beat Collingwood. I think the administrators at the AFL will want a Collingwood-Carlton grand final, that would be a dream for them. Unfortunately, beating Brisbane at home this season has been more than a challenge for opposition teams. As for the NRL, here in Sydney, no one cares for the Melbourne Storm or Brisbane Broncos. Nothing personal...that's just the way it is. After Penrith ran amok with the Storm last night, it should make an interesting NRL grand final this year.

bkizzle1318 Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Are there different leagues with different rules? I could have swore I would randomly turn it on and guys would be doing wwe slams on guys and I just watched an NRL match last Saturday and it was a lot more mellow
Fuzz Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 There are 4 football leagues with different rules in Aus; rugby league, rugby union, Australian rules football and soccer/association football
westg Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 Go Brisbane....I could not possibly dislike Collingwood any more.

I think it is named after an insect…
westg Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Lachie Neale, he is such a bull. Very humble, very composed. Thrilled for him and the lions to take home the Brownlow in the last game, last vote called of the season...amazing. Again !
WarriorPrincess Posted September 25, 2023 Author Posted September 25, 2023 Go the Lions....now for the big game on Saturday Hopefully he has another medal around his neck on Saturday 1
westg Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Sad outcome. An amazing year. Hopefully the Brisbane Brumbies can win this afternoon
JohnS Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 Unfortunately for Brisbane, Nathan Cleary had the game of his life to muster an amazing comeback. Deep down, you can't be too disappointed to be beaten by a performance like that. 1
ayedfy Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 Was at the G watching the Lions lose. Absolutely heartbreaking but they gave it their all and put in a shift to be proud of. Giving up a 16 point lead on the other hand is embarrassing, no matter how good Cleary is.
El Presidente Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 The old maxim of "you have to lose one before you can win one" appears to hold true. So proud of both teams. Lions just got beaten by a better team on the day. Broncos gave it their all but it was a great lesson on managing momentum. Superb seasons for both. Bring on 2024 1
