I was asked about one of these in an email over the weekend.  I have never seen one in the wild so not 100% sure it was ever released.

Proposed 2018 release.

Ramón Allones Emperadores Extra

From halfwheel

Ramón Allones will receive a limited release, called the Emperadores Extra. It uses the popular 109 format, a 7 1/4 x 49 Churchill extra with a rounded cap. It will come in boxes of 50, though it’s unknown how limited production will be.

Don't believe these have been released. The most recent Replica Antique release to see the light of day is the ERDM Imperio in 2019-2020.

They seem to want to announce a new one almost every year even though they're falling way behind. It doesn't look like these humidors are outsourced to third party companies like many of the Commemorative Releases are so quite possibly a lack of materials is holding these back.

At this rate we'll see the Hoyo Vueltabajo in 2030.

We will be releasing our BR 109, same configuration....sans humidor in 2024.

The FOH Tasting lads have them to hand. I will be interested to see their thoughts in the coming weeks. Will share.

I think part of the concept for this series is that they're made by Cuban craftsmen like Humidores Habana, DeCuba Arte en Maderas and so on, who are the same people who do most of the Festival Auction humidors and the 'low end' commemoratives like the LCG 25th Anniversary. It's really only the 'high end' commemoratives that have the piano finishes that go offshore to Humidiff, DeArt, Elie Bleu etc. So, not "in house" per se but certainly the contracted companies would be subject to difficulties in finding raw materials / labour / electricity / everything.

I've been told by a couple of people at distributors that "Habanos don't do the big humidor releases" anymore, which certainly seems to be in line with observed reality, even if it isn't reflected in the announced release lists.

So are they saying that, in effect, Habanos has little (if any) intention of ever releasing these cigars?

That's what I've heard, although it would put it very much in the rumour category. They still appear on the official release list so at least officially the position is that they are still coming someday.

Not that I would put it passed HSA to do some bad photoshop, but the closed version looks like this...ramon-allones-emperadores-extra-cdh-box-50-cigars.webp.66f3672138805ada801dfb7c39c10753.webp

@ATGroom Your photo clears it up completely Alex. They are pivot hinged and rotate in, not a drawer slide.
