Jester316 Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Title says it all. Can I use my La Gloria Glorias box as a desktop humidor? I mean it seems like it's made to be a humidor with the latch and humidor hinges. I would use Boveda's in there. Any advice would be appreciated.
LordAnubis Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 It won’t be amazing. But should be ok. Be more of a dry box I reckon. If used as a humidor I’d think it would be super leaky and you’d need high bovedas or gel would be better. 3
Islandboy Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 I agree with @LordAnubis, as pretty as they are, I don’t think these boxes were built to really be functional as a stand-alone humidor. Plus, having recently acquired one of these myself, I now see how deceivingly small the actual interior storage space is compared to its overall size.
NSXCIGAR Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 These boxes don't seal well. They do not have particularly secure sealing collars and the clasp latches without much pressure. In my opinion it's nothing more than a decorative box that should be kept in a humidor. 1

I have mine in the cabinet. No way could be used as a desktop humi. Be ok for dry boxing

Jester316 Posted June 7, 2023 Author Posted June 7, 2023 Ok thanks everyone. I know it doesn't have a lot of space, but I need a desktop humidor that's not very big, but well made as I hate cheap knock offs from amazon to store cigars that have left the main humidors and gone on vacation with me. So when I bring home sticks, I pulled out for vacation, I am usually going to hot places. So as much as I try to keep them cool they don't always. I want a place to put them until I smoke them. I don't want to put them back in the main humidors in case beatles hatch.
NSXCIGAR Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 If you're dead set on using it as a desktop I would throw in a 60 gram Boveda 72 pack. It'll leak a bit so your actual rH will probably be in the 60s and the Boveda will dry out but a 60g pack will have some legs.
BrightonCorgi Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Put the humidor into a large zip lock and you're set!
