99% Sure I saw this box sold empty in the UK about 8mths ago.   Black on the ribbon looks smudged like it was done yesterday.  Cigar bands all fresh as daisy's with no oxidisation to the gold. Over the last 80 years the bands have also miraculously not managed to imprint even the vaguest of shadow of themselves on the paper on the lid.   Truly amazing.

I noticed the ribbon as well. Extremely bold print and just looks a little...odd. The bands, aside from the lack of age-related signs, don't look embossed or high-quality like one might expect for a cigar like this. I've also never seen that particular design for an RyJ band. I think they might have gotten a little too cute on that.

As I always say provenance is everything when dealing with boxes like this. Or any box for that matter considering the times we live in.
