eggtimer Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 I have a small humi, like one of those 150 - 200 sticks type. I am trying to organise my cigars by Cuban and non cuban and then also by strength (not brand) - I was thinking of using a layering with cedar sheets that come with the original boxes to seperate some of the cigars; is there any issue with this? I presume humidity finds its way everywhere and it would be a boundary for the cigars not to mingle too much? Does anyone have any insights or are there any write upd about organising a small hunidor (I feel large ones are kind easy ...) thanks all!
Çnote Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 I don't see anything wrong with the cedar splits. They should also help keep moisture inside the humidor if you're not using a Tupperwarelike object. Small trays like you find at an office supply could help. Or ribbons making bundles of your subsets.
MrBirdman Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 I used cedar splits to keep different marcas separate in my singles tray when necessary. All good. If it’s the same marca though I stack it tobacco on tobacco.

BrightonCorgi Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Use wax paper instead of cedar. It's a lot easier to work with and does the trick.

Glass Half Full Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 I favor keeping my CCs and NCs in different humidors so they can be kept at different RH — 62-65 for CCs and 70-72% for NCs. To each his own, of course, but they taste better to me that way, in case it’s helpful. Also, to state the obvious: There’s no need for another fancy wood box to achieve that (though I do like them): an airtight cooler or Tupperware will work well too at the right temperature and with Bovedas (or your preferred humidification device). Another note I didn’t notice being mentioned yet on this thread (and if your budget allows) is an excellent digital hygrometer. I’ve had good experiences with SensorPush. I like the history, the ability to add more of them and to see all the data in an app on your phone. There are others too, of course. Hope that’s helpful. 2
