Popular Post tywindsor44 Posted January 29, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 29, 2023 I haven’t cracked into my box of media lunas for some time and I figured it was due. The brand Trinidad is still so elusive for me. I don’t smoke them often enough nor do I own enough to really have a grasp on each stick’s profile. I snagged a couple of boxes back in 2020 and I’ve had the pleasure of having one here and there. It’s a freezing day again here in northern Colorado. More snow. More snow. More snow. As a first responder, snow isn’t fun to deal with. Long days and late nights. I’ve been a firefighter now for almost 3 years and prior to that I was a STIHL (the orange chainsaw) sales/technical representative. It won’t start? Get some fresh gas in it(: On to the cigar- First impressions and cold draw.. Light and mellow. Easy to pull with incredible construction. Cinnamon and a warm delicious bread that your ma used to make. Absolutely 0 spice. True flavor and incredible taste. It’s not hot, it’s just warm enough to deliver those flavors that it’s trying to produce. Second third… Citrus with warm sugar. Is that even possible? It sure taste like it. It also has a small hint of cedar on the back end but it’s naturally sweet with randoms hints of citrus. Absolutely delicious. The flavors are full and the body is medium to full for me. The construction is still holding on very well, the draw has gotten even smoother and easier. Side note- the wrapper on this cigar is absolutely gorgeous. Has a slight oil look and golden in color. Last third… Some what of a nutty flavor and still retaining it’s sweetness are now joined by a mild earthiness(?). The original flavor profile has toned itself back a little and it’s getting into a more robust tobacco route. Final thoughts. Maybe I’m just crazy but nothing from the Trinidad line has really made me say “WOW” yet. Don’t get me wrong, Im never disappointed to be smoking one but they’re definitely not my favorite. This one has been the best so far. I look forward to having more. 83/100. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 17 1
rcarlson Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 With some patience you'll hit that "ah" moment. Bury them for a few. Somewhere in that box you'll have the epiphany. 1
KCCubano Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 Nice review - I may just be in minority in that I find Trinidad to be nice cigars but nowhere near super premium. I have several boxes of Reyes, Fundies, Coloniales and Media Luna. I would take RA, Bolivar, Monte or Partagas over most Trini all day long. 1

I’ve had it with many other lines, maybe mine is the next esmeralda I light up. 15 hours ago, KCCubano said: Nice review-I may just be in minority in that I find Trinidad to be nice cigars but nowhere near super premium. I’m trying to stay positive with them but with the recent price increases… it’s safe to say I probably won’t be purchasing more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have enough. 1

Damn if it wasn't everything described and then some. It's why I plan to sit on my Ezzies and MLs for a few. Hoping they're worth the wait again. 1
Wookie Posted January 29, 2023 Posted January 29, 2023 I’m a huge Trini fan, prefer them over Cohiba. But I also am just as happy with RA, SLR, and VR. Baking spices and fruits. 1

My Ezzies are nearing 3 years… how much longer would you recommend they sit? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They all taste the same to me….some smaller profiles not always. Consistency has been solid for 20 years. Cohiba blew me away in mid 1990s, then became more blah in current years. 1
ayedfy Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 Great review! Been curious about these ones, your review does make it sound pretty good. Maybe I’m just crazy but nothing from the Trinidad line has really made me say “WOW” yet.I’m probably even harder on Trinidad than you are. I’ve yet to have one even crack an 80 on my review scale, my experiences have ranged from dull to unpleasant. At least with your box you’ll get the chance to persevere and see if that golden ticket comes. I’ll probably never smoke a Trinidad again after these price rises, and I’m more than ok with that. 1

I’m glad to see more people are on the same page as us! I thought it was me going crazy. I hope to have that golden ticket in one of my boxes that make me see the light but, regardless I can’t afford them at the new prices anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
