Popular Post Corylax18 Posted April 7, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 7, 2022 I got a text from one of the former wait staff here and she said MGM was showing "Rhumbar Ultra" on their shift rotation list for June of this year. She checked with her Manager and was told its "Reopening in May" It looks like that date was pushed forward to April, 20th! The article below says they spent 2.3 million redesigning it, but no renderings are provided so I have no idea what its going to look like. I dont really care though, the important part is that it WASN'T turned into a "24k Bruno Mars Ultra Lounge" or the stupid Tiki Bar that they planned after that. It looks like the sale of mirage by MGM to The Seminole Indian's may have saved the place. There's a good chance it wont be for long though. The Seminoles are turning the Mirage into a Hardrock, Guitar Tower and all. I'm guessing they weren't real keen on tying themselves to a washedup criminal, but what do I know. Regardless, Im Siked!! I cant wait to enjoy a cigar and a drink at one of the best spots on the Strip. Maybe during the 2023 F1 Race?!?!?!?!?! Chibearsv Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 Wow, that's great news. It's a great spot to spend some time and slow down the gambling a little. Well, just a little since the sports book is just inside to bet the ponies. 😁
TheGipper Posted April 7, 2022 Posted April 7, 2022 Yeah, I also suspect that once Hard Rock takes over, they may have different plans for that spot that won't involve cigars being on the menu. But at least I can pay the place a last visit before it's gone. Still waiting to see if cigars will be on the menu at Parasol Down when they re-open this month after the remodel. I kind of wondered after they gave Steve Wynn the axe that they might eventually get rid of them there. Wynn was an avid cigar smoker and might have been the only advocate in Wynn management for having cigar-friendly places on their property.
LLC Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 It was my favorite spot in Vegas. Let hope after spending all that money, they keep it around. 2
Huckleberry Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Washed up criminals have a history of being champions for cigar culture and cigar smokers. It turns out there is a little bit of good in all of us Thanks for sharing the good news! 1
