Livo Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Poor showing by the Epi 1... Makes me miss the des Dieux even more! Any recommendations on the next best thing? I have a few left from a great TUO NOV 2012 box. Going to be very sad to see the last of them go.
cnov Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Can't win them all. Being that the Siglo IV is so pricey, I think the testing and reviewing should take a more rigorous approach, perhaps a few freebies for Ken to really dig down into? 1
Kaptain Karl Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 I have this code and my box has been pretty damn good! It has a pretty dark PSP wrapper and I get a lot of acidic stone fruit/raspberry and cocoa off it. Doesn’t taste classic Epicure like, but I’m not complaining! 1
riderpride Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 One of my faves, though I have noticed myself preferring tubos in the last few years. They have a relatively high floor so I can't say I've ever been disappointed by one, just varying degrees of satisfaction. Cheers!

Agreed - I have the same box code and same flavours that you describe. Top notch Hoyo so far... 1
Goodfortune Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Have a box of ABO DIC 17 that I have yet to try. May have to give it a sampling this weekend.
GoodStix Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 @El Presidente if one's looking for Hoyo cream (and not larger ring gauge Rio Seco or San Juan) which of the recent production is better please: Epi 2 or Epi Especial?

To my taste, definitely EE. Like other cream-heavy cigars, it needs at least two years to take the tougher edges off. It’s the only Epicure I really enjoy. 3
Chef Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 The Epi 1 with age is one of my faves. I used to trust Ken's palate. But now.... J/K 2 2
