Alex leaving Comodoro for Mi Havana Cigars in Pomona, CA

I think some of us were anticipating this, but Alex officially announced on Facebook today he is applying for a green card in the US and intends to stay permanently in California.

Happy for him and hopefully he will continue to roll Cuban Tobacco from Cali.😀

John, for Alex to want to settle and live in California, this is big news. From my understanding, he was reticent to leave his relational ties in Cuba last year but this news must reflect just how dire things are in Cuba right now.

I look forward to other members contributing more information to this thread than what I can provide.

In any case, I wish the very best for Alex and his family!

How can you expand your business and run after your dream in Cuba? so he did the right thing even if we all loose a great cuban roller on the island. He will bring up some good cigars from other sources just as Hamlet does and maybe we will like them ( or not ).

Glad that he made his way out; like the rest said about grinding it out in Cuba…how do you complete your dreams in that environment? We will still go back to visit the staff at Comodoro if we…..ever….get to go back 😞

Actually have an Alex bundle living the past couple years in waiting on the island. Will be well aged by the time we get to go back…. 😆

Great for him! He will make more $$$ and live the American Dream, because he cant do that in Cuba! Look at other top rollers that have come to the USA and expanded just because of who they are, AJ Fernandez, Hamlet just come to mind for now.  Only thing I do hope is that these companies they sign up with are not screwing them over!

This one is a shop, not a manufacturer.

They may have a house roll with the name but it will be interesting to see where they go from here with Alex in the house.
