I  would normally say a SP Molinos but that is not going to help him ;)

Such a unique cigar when aged.

Aged PL Montecarlo shares some characteristics?

3-5 year old San Cristobal Fuerza?

Think with your palate and help me out :D

"Hey Rob

late to the party on CC but did manage to try a 2008 Dieux in a trade at a local herf. Loved that cigar and i will track down a box at Bond roberts or Mitch's auctions but wanted to ask you what regular production Cuban cigar today comes anywher close in the flavor of an aged Dieux"

I'd say (not reg anymore) RS11, aged Epi#1 (not as prominently woodsy), aged Fuerza, aged La Punta? Montecarlo has too much sweetness to be an analogue for me.

Of course, maybe keep an eye out for well-stored Mouton/Latour/#2 😉

Agreed, Epi 1  at their best does comes closest in the Hoyo line.

How about the DD’s little brother the du Depute

Would have to age them a decade or more though.

Edit: as the original question was about aged/2008 DD.

They are among my favorites.  Plus I love the size.  When I close my eyes I think of a harmonious medium bodied blend.  While neither of what I am about to say “taste” like an old des dieux, my vote for not “cheeky unobtainable” stuff:

SLR regio on near term.
Choix Supreme with a couple of years.

I guess I misunderstood the question. If someone wants to buy a young cigar today that has the flavor profile of a 13 year old cigar I suggest they do their cigar shopping in Fairyland......ask for Tinker Bell👻
