Popular Post ChangBang Posted August 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted August 19, 2021 Got a half box of ERDM DTs recently and didn't have too much time before I needed to head to work, so these will have to do! Been resting for a little under 2 weeks so I don't have much expectations. It's a small cigar, so I'll break it into halves - initially cigar feels kind of moist, so I know it hasn't been sufficiently rested yet. Oh well, give it a cut and draw is maybe a touch tight, but nothing too crazy. 1 - faint honey and floral notes from the first half. Pretty good, but flavors are faint. Maybe with more rest and age, the flavors will pop more? 2 - End half continues with the same except I'm getting a more hot dirty tobacco flavor. I'm trying to sip this cigar, but it's still too fast and the humidity problems are shinning through. Alternate between relights and the cigar getting too hot. Overall - 3.7/10 - My fault for not letting it rest, but the flavors were pretty faint. I'm hoping with proper rest, the flavors will strengthen and I'll have a better experience next time. I tend to have problems with cigars this size in general, as I have a hard time balancing puffs so it doesn't get hot and doesn't go out. Entire cigar time was 37min. 9
Cairo Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 These do not need "age", just a little rest should do it... 😀 I just finished off a 2018 box that was wonderful. 3
BuzzArd Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Excellent smoke when rested for a bit. I like em in the low 60s for humidity. Smoke em slow to avoid the harshness. I get about 25-30 minute out of one. Always on hand around here. 3
ChangBang Posted August 20, 2021 Author Posted August 20, 2021 I'll need to revisit in 3-6months! I'm sure I'll appreciate the small size in the winter. Dunno if I'll be able to get over the small size, requires a lot more thinking when attempting to smoke this so it doesn't overheat. 1
Cold Smoke Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 The Demi-Tasse are a regular favourite of mine and my holdings go deep. I've never had a bad box. 1
DeskSmkr Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 Yeah the small cigars are tricky sometimes as far as slowing the pace. Best of luck on these! 1
Connoisseur Kim Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 Thank you for sharing ERDM Demi Tasse review@ChangBang! Will buy ERDM Demi Tasse when I'm looking for long filler skinny quick smoke .나의 SM-N950N 의 Tapatalk에서 보냄
Frinkiac7 Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 I have a 2017 box of these and they have been one of my most challenging cigars. ERDM Choix Supreme is probably one of my favorite cigars, and I used to love the Lunch Club when it was around, so I am always after ERDM flavor. The demi tasse have been pretty much a headache...smoke too slowly and they go out and need multiple re-lights and this contributes to a bitter taste. Smoke too fast and you overheat and they are just bitter. They often canoe on me and have an uneven burn. I rarely can get more than halfway through one of these and I have to chuck it. Maybe dry boxing and allowing it do dry a bit will help...that's a good suggestion several folks on here had to smoke at lower RH. I love smaller skinnies like this in general...I have never had burn issues with PL Panetelas, RG Panetelas Extra (cheapies and short filler, I know, which may be part of the difference). I know the HDM Hoyo du Maire is also this same size and I have been tempted to try those. 2
