I've heard of this brand before. That's definitely not an image of Henry Clay...I wonder if this brand just ripped off the Henry Clay name. Not sure how they wouldn't get sued even in the late 19th century. I'm too busy too look into it--would like to know the history of this vs. the original Henry Clay brand.

I do not propose to know which one is Henry Clay, but in Henry Clay boxes two blokes are always featured. I'm not sure if It's got something to do with the Bock y Cia merger. but in short.......this guy does appear in Henry Clay boxes.

And the bofeton shows La Flor, so it must be the same brand.

As the brand is based on an exterior figure (to the business), I imagine the top figure is Henry clay himself (the politician) and the bottom figure is actually a main man in the factory.

I have always wondered what Henry Clay cigars were like, due to the Rudyard Kipling poem The Betrothed.

"There's peace in a Larranaga, there's calm in a Henry Clay;
But the best cigar in an hour is finished and thrown away --"
