Habana Mike Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Had an old Chevy Vega that maybe leaked a little oil until an exposed manhole ripped off the oil pan. You bet it leaked after that! 2
Frozen North Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 My first car was an AMC Rebel. I paid $50.00 for it. It lasted almost a year and leaked transmission fluid like a sieve. 2
mprach024 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 Roughly a year after my first car, a well used 1985 Dodge Daytona, while flooring it on the highway on-ramp, my engine starting making a horrible noise. My dad: when was last time you put oil in? Me: heh? My dad: oil change, when are you due for your next change? Me: whuh? Turns out even with using a refurbished second hand engine, oil changes are much cheaper. 1 3
Fosgate Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 I had a 73 Plymouth with a 318. Gassed it up twice a week and a half a quart a week. When it got near the end it was up to a quart a week. 1
Chas.Alpha Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 1st car, a ‘66 Plymouth Fury III. Not sure if it leaked more than it burned, but the oil consumption was reduced drastically once I discovered what the valve cover gaskets were for... 1
PigFish Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 My 20 yo diesel Fords leak a little. But with 4 gallons of motor oil in one, I don’t fret it much! -piggy
Zedman05 Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 First car, my '74 Austin Mini. Leaks oil from the rear main...still to this day. Never have fixed it, 26 years later. I think this summer is the summer of Mini-love. Sent from my SM-G973W using Tapatalk
BigGuns Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 My first car, a ‘78 Camaro handed down to me, came stocked with several quarts of oil and bottles of power steering fluid. I used to love the spontaneous arm workouts that would seemingly come out of nowhere with a high pitched squeal that cannot be mistaken for anything else. I still have it and can’t wait to RF my son with it in a few years. Family traditions and all, you know?
