Money down, I reckon 6 out  of 10 members couldn't tell the difference between Springsteen and our friend Pepe from a blind hearing    :cigar:

no, no, no, no!

he did not call bruce a jersey disgrace. he said that springsteen's arrest was a jersey disgrace.

as has been pointed out numerous times, he registered 0.02 and the legal limit is 0.08. so every chance that this gets tossed and they would be lucky if bruce doesn't sue the crap out of them. although i don't think he is that sort of guy. 0.02 is a sip of irish moss cough mixture.

there is a large school of thought that the arresting officer may have had a different political stance to that expressed by bruce in recent times and that led to his actions, thinking that he'd make himself a hero to certain people. if so, you'd hope he is kicked off the force for good. doesn't matter which side of politic either of them support, wrong.

never touched a drop until mid or late 20s, i believe. his old man was basically alcoholic so he would not touch the stuff. eventually, working bars meant he started. i think he has had periods where his depression has resulted in drinking but it comes and goes, at least as a problem. largely with the depression.

but lately i think he might have felt he had things to celebrate. two sips is hardly a problem.

That's good news.

For a minute there I thought he listened to his last album ......and went over the edge.

years ago, he had a planned tour coming up to australia. i knew the hotel he stayed at - the old heritage where all the stars and celebs stayed. the PR girl was a good friend of mine. they were trying to work out what to do for him as all the hotels like to give their celeb guests something special. i mentioned that a small dinner would probably be hugely appreciated as i knew how keen he was on great wine.

really, she says. perfect. we will do a small special dinner.

and then she says, would i mind if they asked a favour. as bruce was apparently such a winelover, could i possibly come to this special dinner as the host?

oh, very well, i said.

at the time, i hadn't the slightest idea if he even drank, let alone drank wine, but it was the only thing i could think of as i'd been trying to work out how to meet him.

then his wife gets pregnant and they cancel the tour. no god!

The reason Bruce drinks to oblivion is because he just can't match up.....

What a bummer! That sucks Ken.

Remind me a my own story of almost meeting a famous person but at the last second it fell apart. I was doing a euro trip with a close friend who I see as a brother. On the tour we took a break from student hostels and booze filled nights chasing easy women and we stayed with my friend mom's aunt, older sweet lady in Rome. Her husband had passed away in a house fire sadly but he had been a high ranking police officer in Rome, when we decided to stay with her she insisted that through her connections we should meet the pope! When we got the offer I almost burst out laughing I don't believe in organized religion but grew up in a catholic household. I thought my friend was lying but sure enough we had to email a copy of my baptismal certificate and other documentation. The pope once a month has a get together and we were getting invited.

I thought this was going to be one hell of a story to tell the grandkids I got to go booze with the pope sadly 2 weeks before he cancelled since he was going to extend his vacation in a villa in some part of Italy. Thankfully the women of Rome were very good at distracting me from my miseries. That trip overall was one hell of an experience, for all of you single and under 30 members on the forum for the love of God go visit ios Greece. The debauchery that takes place there is outstanding.....@bayala go visit! You will thank me later.

I think if I did it all over again, I would name my band “Youth in Asia.”
I’m actually surprised no one has gone out with that name. Maybe they say it too fast?... ?
