Popular Post StogieSteve23
Opening Remarks: I decided to pick this because even though it wasn't released until last year, I still consider favorite for the last couple years as a daily go to cigar. I paired this stick with a homemade version of the Cabbage Creeper, a drink from Cabbage Key on the west coast of FL. We took a boat trip for lunch one day a couple months back. This is where Jimmy Buffet was inspired to write his song Cheeseburger in Paradise. It’s a beautiful private island restaurant, marina and lodge near Boca Grande. The burgers are decent, but certainly nothing I would write a song about.. Nevertheless, a nice pairing with this stick for a Sunday afternoon. Cold draw was a little tight, so I used the PD once and helped just enough. Warm butter, honey, cedar and salted peanuts off the cold draw. The wrapper is smooth to the touch with some small veins. First Third: Upon first puffs post lighting of the foot, a Honey Comb cereal flavor is present. Draw and combustion are good but after just a few puffs, the burn gets wonky. Dry roasted almonds are predominant on the tongue while a sweet pepper note lingers on the retrohale. Smoke coming from the foot is the smell of warm grass & beeswax. The burn line has begun working itself out and a slight nutmeg finish is on the tongue before the end of the first third. Body is a solid medium Second Third: A lovely vanilla stroopwaffel flavor overwhelms my pallet. The combination of the Creeper with the cigar is a nice pairing. Most of the second third is a delicious peanut butter over wheat toast flavor. Vanilla extract. Cinnamon dusting. A little cedar on the retro. Final Third: Draw and combustion remain excellent. Burn has straightened out on its own very nicely. Dry roasted peanuts with a warm molasses drizzle. Soft floral notes round off the tongue. Peanuts, cocoa powder and a slight basil note to round off the final edges of the cigar. Closing Remarks: As some of you may know, I love this stick. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed the cigar. Slightly less on the peanut note than has been the norm as of late with these, but enjoyable as usual. The cigar remained cool to the touch throughout with a steady medium in body and flavor. Always firing on all cylinders, this stick is an easy daily go to for me. Burn: 4/5 (Started out wonky but evened out on its own without a single touchup) Construction: 5/5 (Good draw/combustion the entire way through . Well packed with no soft spots) Flavor: 4/5 (Good – Honey, nuts, vanilla, molasses, toast) Smell: 3/5 (Fresh cut warm grass and beeswax – a little odd but not terrible) Wrapper: 4/5 (Lighter brown with minimal veins and soft to the touch) Overall Score: 20/25

Can I throw a sleeping bag out on your back-porch when my wife kicks me out of the house for draining the retirement budget on PsdP's? Looks like your house has pretty good drinks as well! LOL 1

While I do love prosciutto and eat it very often, what you see in that bowl behind are leftover tails from peel n' eat shrimp. 9 hours ago, Kaptain Karl said: I have 4 boxes arriving tomorrow so I agree!
