Partagas Maduro No. 1 12DCRC

@moneyneversleeps they'll improve from short term resting up to 90 days. And some more resting aging for 6 months to 2 years might help a bit more. For long term aging you can go 3, 5 or even 10 years depending on the cigar.

It is @JohnS rule of thumb that chocolate/cocoa cigars do well in the 3-5 year range and don't benefit from more aging.

On a practical note we only have one of each of the sampler cigars so there's no way to sample each kind periodically and decide when they are most ready. Also unless you have other cigars to smoke in the meantime it can be tough to wait even if you can figure out the perfect rest time.

Thanks for the review. I have only smoked one of these. It was August back home in Spain after a big meal seating outside with a drink. I found it very filling and satisfying, similar to you on tasting notes. I think Genios are superior, but really liked these too.

I think the partagas no1 is a very underrated stick. I remember 2-3 years ago they wouldn’t sell out, CC purist didn’t wanna touch the maduro CCs. Prez was basically giving these away at like low 2s 230-240ish a box. I have a box of 17s I picked up in Cuba and they are smoking wonderfully now. For the value Maddy 1 could take the genios IMO. Especially at the severely inflated cohiba prices now.

I've had the same dilemma. Tried and loved the Secretos, balked at the price of the Genios, figured the Maduro 1s would be a good value alternative so went in on a 24:24 box.
