This was my last smoke of the weekend, before I had to be productive and whatnot. I lit it up on Sunday morning and it ended up being stronger than I preferred. I knew that Aganorsa leaf products were pepper forward, but I didn't think that I wouldn't enjoy the cigar. From the onset to the end I got a bold and peppery cigar that was too much for me first thing in the morning. In retrospect I shouldn't have chosen to smoke this early in the day on an empty stomach. I didn't get sick or anything but it wasn't pleasant. The strong cigar, an empty stomach and a chilly, windy and cloudy morning just didn't go well. Construction and burn were not an issue; and really nothing was wrong with the cigar itself, it was just the situation and environment that made it unlikable.

0 on my 0/1 scale.

I like to keep it simple. At the end of the day the only thing that matters is if I enjoyed it or not.

I also never understood the use of a 0-100 scale if nothing is ever rated under ~80. That only leaves ~20 points separating the worst cigar from the best cigar. And no one really rates anything at 100 either because then nothing can ever be perfect. So the numbered continuum scales always seemed odd to me.

That's just one step too minimalist for me. But I've started liking the 1-5 scale. I find I give out about as many 1s and 2s as 5s. But 3s and 4s are most common.

Yes this never made any sense to me. A so-so cigar would be a 90, and the best cigar you've ever had would be a 95...

Yeah I agree with that! I like the rating scale @JohnS has used. Maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea for us to more or less get on the same scale?

I’ve read his reviews periodically, but I’m not familiar with is his rating scale. Do you have a link to it or a description?

I might try the 0-5 or 1-5 scale but that would be the biggest spread I’d be willing to try. I think a 0-10 or 1-10 would have the same issues as the 0-100 scale; most of the cigars would score on the upper end of the scale very few of any cigars being scored below 5.

In essence, it's a scale from 1 to 5 borrowed from Cuban Cigar Website which I've gotten used to in rating cigars smoked from my inventory over the years. Below is a chart from Cuban Cigar Website which links the different rating systems...
