Popular Post JZBdano
H Upmann Magnum 56 Beautiful box from FOH top notch construction. I've smoked a few, gifted/traded a few. It's been a couple years because they needed more time. Paired with Lavazza drip coffee and half and half. This cigar started off nicely with classic Upmann flavors of shortbread, sandalwood, cinnamon and leather with that creamy toasted sugar finish you find in an well rested Upmann. This thing is intense. El Prez said it best, these are Upmann on steroids. I take puffs of varying volume and the complexity is captivating. Flavors continued to evolve through the mid section. Shortbread, coffee with milk, cinnamon, anise seed, a little pepper and bbq brisket burnt ends. Thick smoke with a long sweet finish. Phenomenal! Full draws on this thing are sensory overload so I vary from little sips to big billowing pulls. I babied this thing so a few touch ups were needed to keep the burn steady. Coffee is a great pairing because it can stand up to the intensity of flavors. Coffee, leather, milk chocolate, sweet cream, pepper and spice. It started to get little sharp and bitter shortly after that last picture which tells me they will probably benefit from more time down. That wonderful aged Upmann profile is getting there. Sweet nuances are developing nicely which promises even more depth and complexity in time. Overall an excellent cigar and a most enjoyable 2 hours 20 minutes. Right up there with the best of them.

Tstew75
Crazy strong & complex EL. Agree they need at least a 2-3 more years to enter their prime smoking window, and can age forever.
