Great review! I have an LGR OCT 19 cab that I have been pulling from and enjoying them quite a bit. You're review is about spot on to what I get. I do wish these had a bit more umph in the first half. I hope there is enough meat there to age well.

Thanks! Here's to aging potential!

Can't imagine anything Cohiba to be bad... Unless it was purchased on a beach with a plexi top ;)

Nice review! What were you drinking with it?

A Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale! Good pairing...

Much agreed! All Cohibas can't go wrong unless you buy them at fishy areas filled with glasstop fakes or B&Ms keeping CCs overhumidifed ?

I would love to get a cab of Siglo II but its hard to do it when a cab of 50 PLPC is less.

Yeah. When I see Cohibas up on 24:24 and people are able to drop hundreds or even thousands on them, I think I know my life must not have gone well ?

I have a 2017 cab of these cigars and fail to see the hype, other than they are a good value cigar. My experience has been they are very one dimensional with just straight tobacco flavors. They pale in comparison to a Monte4, RGPC, Sancho Non Plus or Upmann PC. Likely my first cab and also my last unfortunately.

I don’t have enough experience (the 1) or time (1 year of age) to say. But I would imagine that, like all things in life, expectations are everything. And being good for the price probably is part of the appeal.

Agreed. I smoked 3 with 6 years age several years ago and they did nothing for me. I also tried some younger ones in the more recent years and like you said, it’s just straight tobacco flavors. Yeah, I take a SPNP, H.U PC or a RyJ PC any day.

Only issue is that these are discontinued. Very little PC left on the market sadly.

If 6 years of age did nothing to help them, no amount of age will. I tend to think the blend is just not very dynamic nor complex. They certainly aren't pretty appearing because most reviews I read here describe them as basically "ugly sticks". Not high grade leaf used for wrappers.

It is the short filler Panatelas that are discontinued.

The PCs are alive and well, and sold here and elsewhere from time to time.

I have some resting, but experts who I trust have assured me that patience will be rewarded, and that poor cabs of PCs or poor sticks in cabs are the exception and not the rule.

I was referring to SPNP, H.U PC or RyJ PC. I buy a new cab of PLPC every few months. I cant keep my hands off of them!

The only stick that’s discontinued is H.U PC. SPNP is in its last year (so stock up folks) and RyJ are alive and well.

Oh that's great. Didn't know the RyJ were still out there. I hope Rob gets some in soon, would love to try a box.

I love the RyJ PC. Especially with some age. So full bodied and complex yumm. Strangely enough, it doesn’t get mentioned that much on FOH. Maybe people don’t like it. I should start a thread about it...

It certainly isn't mentioned much! To the point where I thought it must be discontinued! haha. However, sometimes starting a thread about a hidden gem isn't a good idea ?
