mkirk76 Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 I’m thinking of picking up some tins of Upmann Half Corona and Monte Media Corona. For those with these tins, do you keep your cigars in the tin for long-term storage? Or remove them and store loose? just wondering if there’s any impact on flavor profile if stored in the tins long-term...
Cairo Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 My preference (fwiw) is always to leave the smokes in their original packaging. The main risk in long term storage is accidental damage of the cigars as you paw through your stash over the years. (I have learned this lesson the hard way.) 1
LordAnubis Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 I've always wondered how the foam piece in the HUHC tins will age over time... i'd take that out but leave the cigars in the tin.

NSXCIGAR Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 When in doubt original packaging is always fine, but in this case I agree--remove any foam from the tins.

There is foam in the HUHC tin? I've never seen that. All mine have a thin cedar sheet and a piece of glassine paper. 1

Fuzz AI Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 That's the first time I've seen that, Mus. Might check my tins when I get home.

Seemed legit, but he has some wacky ideas; putting a cigar in a fridge will loosen a tight draw, the best drink to pair with a cigar is orange juice, all plume is mold, etc. 7

Birds of a feather, I suppose... 1

Plato Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Should I take the mayonnaise out of the jar before I put my cigars in for long term storage? Or leave it in? Asking for a friend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
