with home made masks :cigar:

Yet another testament to Cuban ingenuity!

Absolutely brutal heat this time of year and those factories provide zero relief. Bless them for doing that work.

Hope they all stay safe. Havana started opening up and cases doubled. 15 a day vs. 7-8.

We're exponentially higher. Imagine they'll reel back while our leaders are insisting schools open on schedule.....won't mention which country.

Curious to see if “Corona box codes” will exhibit a certain trend. I can only imagine the discomfort of the mask plus the heat could impact ones emotions and ability to perform such detailed work.

Regardless, happy to see their safety is a priority and they are working and well.

It's really difficult for me to believe that people have become such delicate flowers that a piece of cloth over their face would so upset and disturb them that they would become incapable of sedentary manual tasks.

I think you’d be surprised. The smallest changes affect ones behavior which can certainly change how someone performs a certain task. Many studies have been done on temperature and office productivity. A degree can have a substantial impact. A mask can certainly do the same.

Home made masks dont work. They help prevent droplets from contaminating air space than without... but they don't prevent intake of contaminated air to the user. Surgical mask dont protect the user either. :(

I don't think anyone ever suggested masks help prevent getting it but suggest they help prevent spreading it. So it supposedly only helps if the wearer already has the virus.

That's aside from the actual data on mask efficacy during this whole episode being unknown or in question.

Agreed. People are seemingly confused about masks purpose...THEY STOP YOU FROM TRANSMITTING THE DISEASE TO OTHERS...not the other way around

That's why I brought it up. However, N95 masks and respirators when properly worn/handled help protect the user. We just dont have enough of these to go around. There is confusion amongst the public about what regular fabric masks actually do.. and there is a false sense of security with their use.

But still...fabric masks are better than no masks at all. I'm not sure that point can be argued.
