Popular Post Habana Mike Posted June 20, 2020 Popular Post Posted June 20, 2020 First time I’ve been more than 5 miles from the house in over 3 months. Drove down to Flagler Beach FL for a week long change of scenery. Settled in to our place in Painter’s Hill after 7 hours on the road. After a relaxing smoke and a couple G&T went to a sushi place less than a mile away. First restaurant outing the same length of time. With just over 200 total cases of the C19 in the county and a remote beach we feel pretty safe and it is so nice to have a change of scenery! 26
mrmessy Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 Good for you Mike! We are planning to go to seacrest at the end of July. Hopefully things will still be ok then. Sent from my SM-N976U using Tapatalk 1

On the bright side, we hung up some new lights, which made my backyard look slightly different. It was ineffable for 15 seconds. 1

madandana Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 Looks awesome. Have a good time! Things haven’t changed a ton for us. Boating with friends or sitting on the patio with a smoke and drink is what we would be doing anyhow. We’ve sat outside at a few restaurants and pick up some carry out from others and also some carry out growlers from our favorite brew pub. 2
anacostiakat Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 Just going to Phase 2 here in DC. Have not been anywhere other than the grocery stores, etc. Have a hair chopping scheduled for July 5th. I think last time I had one was end of February or early March. Have been buzz cutting the sides and back. LOL 1

Some indoor shopping is now allowed, so wife and I went out today. It was almost like a date. Except we happened to be shopping for a new washer and dryer, so not really fun. But being out and interacting with other people in person was very enjoyable. Except for the whole appliance part, and the price tags, that is. I am still st least two weeks away from a haircut, however. Should probably start looking to find a new barber to make an appointment. Looks like the clippers might just get retired in the near future.
StogieSteve23 Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 Good for you Mike! Looks beautiful and thank you for sharing. You picture makes me feel safe! Down here in South Florida we're experiencing another good amount of spike in cases. I've been worried the whole time but as I start going out on an as needed basis (with gloves/mask as has been the case all along for me) it makes me understand why were still gaining cases. I know more people are being tested which is also a factor, but still a good amount of people walking around without any kind of PPE. No bueno in my opinion. Most places wont allow you in without a mask which I think is great, but you'll always get those jackwagons, pitching a fit and asking for the manager when they are prevented from shopping/entering because they don't have one on (despite it being all over signage at the entrances of said establishments). 1 1
Philc2001 Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 Nice outing Mike. Are you renting, or is that your place? That's a really nice area, we spent some time nearby in St. Augustine Beach a year ago, loved it. I don't know if they are open but if you ever get the chance try taking the free tour at the St. Augustine Distillery, it is not only historic, but they make a killer Mule and their bourbon is outstanding. We've been in self-imposed isolation in South Florida since the first week of March. My company shutdown our office the following week so we only go out to get groceries. We ventured out to a local sushi restaurant with a patio on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend for our first venture to a public place, it was a glorious breezy day just before the rains came. It's been raining every day since. The restaurant was doing most things right, distancing tables, disinfecting every table, no shared condiments on tables, masks, gloves, hand sanitizers, etc. Last night we took our second outing to celebrate Father's day on the eve. We went to a restaurant on the intercostal waterway in Ft. Lauderdale called "My Big Fat Greek Restaurant", on their patio. The food is terrific, but I won't be back for a while, they were not taking sufficient precautions. We brought our own disinfectant and sanitizer, but the restaurant is clearly not following the guidelines. Now I feel like I have to quarantine for the next two weeks... ugh!

We’d love to own a place in the area. Actually have been shopping for a few years. We love this prt of Florida and if we could get Kelly over her fear of hurricanes might already own one by now! 1
