Popular Post dcbuss Posted May 20, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 20, 2020 Just wanted to make a quick PSA. During these times we are VERY fortunate to have FOH and ALL of the services they provide. Why? As if we need a reminder! I am, and like many things took it for granted. That was until approximately 2 weeks ago when I came off of 12 hour shifts since the middle of March at the health clinic I work at, providing medical services to patients with HIV. I developed shingles due to the stress, and in the last couple of days developed Bell’s palsy on the right side of my face. Needless to say, many simple things have become hard. But I’m grateful for FOH and the many people that I’ve been able to interact with, and look forward to when I can enjoy a stick again! Long story short. Enjoy the now. And be slow to judge good and bad. Because you never know! 27 11
Popular Post JohnS Posted May 20, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 20, 2020 Hi @dcbuss, I wanted to split this posting from the Daily Smoke thread (where you modestly posted it) to give it its own 'limelight'. I wanted to thank you for the work you do, the courage to share your story, and the wisdom to remind us to stay attentive to the present. I wish you every success upon the road to 100% full recovery! Thank you again! ? 13
StogieSteve23 Posted May 20, 2020 Posted May 20, 2020 Well said. We all should enjoy "the now" more than we probably do. Wishing you a quick turnaround with all that's happening. 1
99call Posted May 20, 2020 Posted May 20, 2020 Hats off to you Sir. Thank you for all your selfless work. But if you can, please take some time to recouperate. I hope your employer's support and stand behind you with the same gusto that you have supported others. I wish you a quick recovery. Here's to you. I raise my glass 1

CaptainQuintero Posted May 20, 2020 Posted May 20, 2020 Sorry to hear it, hopefully you'll be able to get some quality recovery time now and things get back on track soon. You do a great thing career wise, I know it's difficult to take time out and have self care when you work looking after others. Sending a bucket of good wishes your way 1

I’m truly one of the fortunate ones in that regard. 5 1

El Presidente Posted May 20, 2020 Posted May 20, 2020 Wishing a swift recovery! If you have some time off, catch up on the FOH Zoom Herf around midday local time. It is a great way to unwind 1

Bri Fi Posted May 20, 2020 Posted May 20, 2020 My babysitter’s husband works in the ER as a tech. He recently came down with Bell’s palsy last week as well. My babysitter just had a heart attack yesterday and her husband wasn’t allowed into the hospital to be with her. Life is too short. I wish you a speedy recovery sir. 2

My most well wishes go out to your babysitter and husband. And agreed, life is too short, to realize how precious it is. Smoke a great cigar for me! 1
