Was I the only one that had to look up what Esky meant?  Also in Australia do they have high end coolers like in the United States.   We have a brand called Yeti that is $300 for a 45quart cooler.

no idea what it cost here but i'd guess $50 to $60? someone will know better. 

they are not actual "coolers" or fridges. basically insulated boxes that help keep cold things cold. don't make them colder. 

we call them eskies from about as soon as we can talk. though technically, a 'brand' name. bit like someone might use coke for a generic cola.

Yep, plenty of brand of coolers in Aus, from the low end to the high end. Esky is the major brand in Aus, so we just call them all "Esky", much like some call a vacuum a "Hoover" or tissues "Kleenex".
